Elected as president of the organization for the next two years is Mrs. Burt Eaton. Mrs. Richard Miller has been elected as first vice-president and Mrs. J. W. Ash as secretary, both for two-year terms. New members of the board of directors, elected for two year terms, are Mrs. Harland Clark, Mrs. Dwight Wallace and Mrs. Jewel Goddard. Mrs. J. W. Northway has been elected for one year to fill an unexpired term. Three board members are elected annually for two. jear terms. Six remaining board positions are filled by appoint two- iS. ments. Others in Office Officers continuing their terms in office are Mrs. Martin Schmitt, treasurer, Mrs. Thomas F. Nugent, second vice-president and Mrs. Robert Moulton, editor. Board members serving their second year are Mrs. Stan ley Pierson and Mrs. Charles Bremer. New officers and direc tors will assume their duties June 1. Among amendments to the by-laws was a raise in member ship dues to $7.50. The members however voted to offer an as sociate membership to univer sity students or students' wives. Program for the coming year was voted to include two items on local current agenda: a "Know Your Schools" study with emphasis on curriculum; and the present county charter study item directed at effecting the improvement of county gov ernment through amending the basic document and imple mentation through orders and ordinances. Projects Retained Seven of the present continu ing responsibilities were re tained: An effective program for handling dependent, delinquent and neglected children. County zoning and plan ning. Improvement of election procedures in the Eugene area. Measures to prevent and control air pollution in the Eu gene area. Urban renewal. Support of adequate family counseling facilities in the Eu gene area. Extension of library serv ices in Lane County. Remaining items of League study and continuing responsi bilities are determined on the state and national levels in al ternate years. River Road Club Meets River Road Women's Club will meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the clubhouse to do quilting for the Red Cross. All women living in the area are invited to attend. Potluck luncheon will be served at noon, with Mrs. Nina Sperling as chairman. She will be assisted by Mrs. K. K. Fol gadalcn, Mrs. H. D. Ross and Mrs. David Ogdcn. Women attending are asked to wear Easter bonnets of their own making. There will be a hidden jewelry auction as an entertainment feature.
