Stafford, who were married in Eugene 50 years ago, will mark their golden wedding anni versary Saturday at a reception at the Eugene Elks Club. Hours will be 2 to 4 o'clock in the afternoon. ESA Council Presents Gift to Hospital School A fiift of $1,300 to Children's Hospital School has Been an nounced by Eufiene Area Coun cil nf tfncilnn Ki2mfl Aloha. The money, which represents proceeds ol tnc annual canoy sale, was earned by the five local chapters: Alpha Zeta, Al pha Rho, Beta Beta Gamma Kpsilon and Gamma Kappa. Each chapter also sends at least one child to Camp Easter Seal each year. The Children's Hospital School is the philanthropic project of the 67 chapters of Epsilon Sigma Alpha in Ore-Ron. ACEBooks TalentNight A teacher talent niRht is acheduled Thursday by Eusenc Branch, Association of Child hood Education. The event, hilled as "Don (he Beachcomber," will follow an Hawaiian theme and will fea ture instrumental, vocal and novelty numbers. Gordon Corn er, principal of River Road Ele mentary School, will be master of ceremonies. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. at River Road School. All District 4 teachers are invited. Tickets, which are 75 cents and include ahow and refreshments, may be purchased at the door. Alumnae to Hear Music Program Zela Tail Alpha Alumnae will have a musical program at their meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the home of Mrs. V. E. El linRsworth, 2108 Law Lane. Mrs. Edward Gray will he co-hostess. Dessert will be followed by the program. Musical soloists will be Mrs. Eliot Jenkins, harpist; Miss Jean Ann Routtu, pianist: Miss Kathryn Sue Ellincsworlh. or ganist; anil Mrs. James Mere dith, violinist. Mr. and Mrs. Walling were married in Boise, and came to Eugene soon afterward to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd E. Staf ford will greet friends Saturday at a reception marking their golden wedding anniversary. Hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. at the Eugene Elks Club, 2727 Centennial Blvd., when friends and relatives are invited to call. The couple asks that there be no gifts. Sharing host honors for the occasion will be two of the couple's three children and members of their families: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stafford of Eugene and Mr. and Mrs. Avery Cloninger (Geneva) of Longview, Wash. Another son, Richard Stafford and his fam ily of Minneapolis, Minn., will come to Oregon this summer for a family reunion. The Staf fords have 10 grandchildren. Lloyd Edgar Stafford and Margaret P. Rhodes were mar ried March 5, 1913, at the home of her parents, 1458 Alder St. in Eugene. Mrs. Stafford was born in 1889 in Mandcrson, Nebr., and came to Eugene in 1903. Mr, Stafford, also born in 1889, at Mohawk, is the son of James Stafford who came to Lane County in 1852 and Sarah Hardman who came here in 1850, both as youngsters. The Hardman and the Stafford families made the trek wagon trains which originated at St. Joseph, Mo. Their homes were in Indiana. James Staf ford was the first representative to the Oregon legislature from Lane County. A year before the marriage of the Lloyd Staffords, Mr. Staf ford moved from Mohawk to the home where the couple still resides, Hi miles cast of Goshen on the Coast Fork of the Wil lamette. Until recent years when he semi-retired he was engaged in raising hops, walnuts, sheep and beans. Their son, Robert Stafford, now runs the ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Stafford share hunting as a hobby and go each year to Eastern Oregon for elk. Mr. Stafford, an ardent fisher man, chose as his 73rd birthday present a deep-sea trip in a charter boat and came home with his limit of salmon. Mrs. Stafford is active in home ex tension work. We dumped her out in the country about seven times and each time we took her about ten miles from home, but she always found her way home again. Would any body like to have our cat? They are average teen-agers who get on my nerves when I'm around them for over an hour. This woman puts her children first and I'm afraid if I marry her she would soon have me playing second fiddle to her chil dren. I love her but I don't like her set-up. My son remained JOE JONES because him. Fine. When my son's friends come to the house they call his real father wouldn't permit my second husband to adopt me "MRS. JONES." 1 don't bother to correct them because, after all, my son's name is JOE JONES, so it is a natural mis take. But when my husband is home and they call him "MR. JONES" he does a slow burn. Should I correct them on the spot while my husband is fuming with anger? Or should I let it go and let him fume? MRS. SMITH DEAR MRS. SMITH: Tell your son (privately) to advise his friends that MR. Piano Guild Names Topic For Program National Guild of Piano Teachers of Lane County will meet Friday at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Stiggins, 2575 Lincoln St. Co-hostesses will be Mrs. Oliver Hunt and Mrs. E. R. Passwaters. ' "Romantic Music" is the pro gram theme. Mrs. Warren Price and Mrs. Donald Warnick will talk on the history and the piano music of this era. Mrs. N. M. Weinmiller will play the Andante movement of the Piano Concerto in G Minor (Mendels sohn) with the orchestral part played by Mrs. Lyle Clarambeau on the organ. Mrs. L. J. Black and Mrs. Ira Weight will play Variations on a Theme by Haydn (Brahms). The Piano Playing Group will meet March 29 at the home of Mrs. Oliver Hunt, 1343 Crest Dr. Montanans Date Dinner Montana Club, composed of persons who have lived in that state; will have its annual spring potluck dinner Sunday at 2 p.m. in the cafeteria of Eu gene Water and Electric Board. All former residents of Mon tana are invited to join the group for dinner. Those attending are to take their own dishes, as well as food. Coffee and cold drinks will be furnished.
