EUGENE REGISTER-GUARD, Wed., Jan. 30, 1963 Faje 9A Pharmacists Funeral Rites Set Saturday Funeral services for Pharma cist James H. Baker, 63, of 977 Lariat Dr., Eugene, will be held Saturday. Baker, a native of Oregon, died Tuesday at ( Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been hos pitalized since last Friday. He had been in ill health. Baker was a graduate of the University of Oregon, class of 1923, and later graduated from Oregon State University School of Pharmacy. At the time of his death, he was a pharmacist for Pennywise Drug Co. on W. Sixth Avenue, Eugene. A veteran of World War II, during which he served in the South Pacific as a pharmacist with the U.S. Navy, Baker was past commander of Post No. 3, American Legion, and was a member of VFW Post No. 293, Eugene Elks Lodge. McKenzie River Lodge No. 195, AF and AM, Hillah Shrine Temple, Eu gene Shrine Club, the Oregon State Pharmaceutical Assn. and St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Eu gene. Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise; three children, Carol at home, Louise Abbott of Klamath Falls and Dr. Richard K. Baker of Corvallis; his moth er. Micelle Flanary of Roseburg; a sister, Alice Broaddus of Rose burg, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Eu gene, Saturday at 11 a.m. In terment will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park. Women Plan Dimes March An estimated 1,500 to 2,000 women tonight will call at homes in Eugene, Springfield, Cottage Grove, Junction City and Creswell in the annual Mothers' March, a fund-raising drive for the March of Dimes. Women collecting funds for the organization will be identi fied by a green "key" badge and other March of Dimes ma terials. A few men members of Theta Chi and Sigma Chi fra ternities at the University of Oregon may be among the cal lers in Eugene, They volun teered to serve as "stand-bys." March of Dimes drive offi cials urged householders in the five cities to turn on porch lights "as a courtesy" to the marching mothers, and to re port any unauthorized solicita tion to city police departments. Some women in outlying and suburban areas without side walks began the door-to-door drive during daylight hours Wednesday. Persons not contacted in the fund drive may make out dona tions to the March of Dimes, and send them to the Eugene or Springfield Main Branches of the First National Bank or to the Junction City Branch ot the U.S. National Bank. k5 4 Administrators NamedbyDist.19 - Directors of Springfield School District IB Monday night named four men to administrative posi tions.. An Astoria man, Eugene So renson, will be director of pupil personnel services, a position not filled during the current school year. Frank Walch will become the Page principal, and replacing him as teaching principal at Leaburg Elementary School will be James Cyphert. now a sixth grade teacher at Page. All appointments become ef fective next fall. City Library to Show 2 Films on Mexico Mexico wil be featured in two films to be shown at the Eugene Public Library's free Thursday motion picture hour. The titles of the travel films are "Wonderful Mexico," and "Mexican Holiday." Showings will be at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the library's up stairs lecture room. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
