Cars make news tonight as
one television program displays
all the new 1963 models and
another questions whether cars
are a luxury or necessity.
At 6 p.m., on Channels 13 and
8, Chet Huntley, Merrill Muel
ler, Hugh Downs and ''at Fon
taine will conduct a tour of the
Automobile Show's seven-acre
spread in Detroit's Cobo Hall.
New models o cars and trucks
by all the automobile manufac
turers, exhibits of vehicle safety
and discussions of future de
signs in cars highlight the "44th
National Automobile Show."
At 9:30 on Channel 9 and 10:30
on Channel 12, "Howard K.
Smith" features the subject "Is
