S350.000. Flint is president of
the corporation. Chris Coglietti
of Coburg and Eugene attorney
Thompson Snyder are other of
ficers in the firm, Flint said.
Replicas of Old Buildings
Coglietti is owner of the acre
age in the Coburg Hills about
two miles northeast of the Co
burg Road-Pacific Freeway in
terchange, about seven miles
north of Eugene.
Planned for construction on
the site this fall and winter, if
possible, are 15 or 20 wood
frame buildings to comprise
what will become "Old Town,"
Flint said. Buildings will be
replicas of those found in North
west logging towns in the years
between 1885 and 1900. he said.
Flint is now dismantling old
buildings in Lane County to ob
tain timber for the structures.
A carpentry shop already has
been built on the site to pre
fabricate the old-time buildings,
he said. Planned for Old Town
are such establishments as a liv
ery stable, blacksmith and car
riage shops, a bank, a hotel, a
general merchandise store, a
newspaper office, a jail, and
others.
Two-Mile Railroad Trip
Old Town is to be but one
attraction of the development,
said Flint. There will be picnic
facilities, a children's amuse
ment park (with rides limited
to those that would have been
possible at the turn of the
century, such as a small fcrris
wheel connected to a stream
driven water wheel) and a string
of mock-up logging operations,
depicting various methods of
harvesting timber in the early
days of the logging industry.
A full-sized railroad train,
with passenger cars built to re
semble those of an earlier era,
will carry sightseers on a two
mile trip from a ticket station
and 50-acre parking lot cast of
the Coburg interchange to the
development site, Flint said.
Once at the site, tourists will
debark from the train and then
be conducted on a tour of the
dummy logging sites, ending up
finally at Old Town.
Five Months a Year
According to plans, tourists
will start the tour at a recon-

total, there are to be 45 dummy

The entire operation probably
will be open to the public only
five months out of the year
starting in May, said Flint.
Flint, 40, is a native of Ore
gon and has been a resident oC
Lane County for three years. He
lives in Coburg with his wife,
Yvonne, and their three daugh
ters. Before entering the re
modeling business in Spring
field, he was in the same busi
ness in Roseburg for five years,
and before that was a cabinet
maker in Los Angeles for eight
years.
Equipment Already On Hand
He said ho formed the idea
of such a development in Ore
gon after visiting Knott's Berry
Farm in Los Angeles, where an
old-time mining camp replica
has been built.
Most of the equipment to be
used in the logging displays al
ready has been acquired, he
said, and is now being moved
to the site. Whether the total
development can be readied in
time for next summer's tourist
season will depend on financing
arrangements, he said. Should
that prove a stumbling block, he
said, the development might
take another five years to complete.

Off Sharply
NEW YORK WI The stock
market closed sharply lower
Tuesday In a quiet sinking
spell.
After 2V4 sessions of Ir

chiefly because of lack of bids.
Volume for the day was esti

Monday. . ,
Key stocks went down frac
tions to 1 or 2 points. A scat

Reluctance to bid rather than
strong selling pressure ac
counted for the lccline, brokers
said. The market has had a sub

Day for clues as to the course
of business and the market.
Caution prevailed.
IBM trimmed an 8-point loss
to 5 as the stock fell toward the

dropped about 4. Losses of 2 or

Du Pont, Union Carbide and

Jonathan Logan lost at 10

Southern California Edison
