Summers home, w hen Mrs. Sum mers, Mrs. Leroy Erdmann and Mrs. Clay Barnes entertained for Charles Cameron. Charles, whose marriage to Susan Scales of Sandy will take place Aug. 25, was feted by 30 friends who gathered for a des sert supper. Gifts included everything from man - sized cookie jars and barbecue aprons to household tools and garden clippers. The wedding will take place at First Christian Church in Portland. Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil M. Cameron of Eugene and the bride-elect is the daughter of the Thomas Henry Scales' of Sandy. A family shower honoring Susan was given in Portland recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hume, brother-in-law and sister of the groom elect. Attending from this area were his mother; four aunts, Mrs. E. T. Cobb of Albany, Mrs. 0. B. Morris, Mrs. M. E. Rush, and Mrs. Carl Kirk of Eugene: cousins, Mrs. Evan Mann and Mrs. Gayle Brock of Eugene; sister-in-law, Mrs. Jack Fassett. Miss Norma Nauss, who will be married Saturday to Bill Walls, has been honored at two parties. "A (Kennell-Ellls photo) ARDIS HACKER Youth Secretary Miss Ardis Hacker, 1962 grad uate of Ohio State University, joined the staff of Central Lane YM-YWCA today,' as a youth secretary. Miss Hacker will work with Y Teen Clubs at the junior and senior high level and with other youth programs for boys and girls carried on by the YM YWCA. While in high school and col lege Miss Hacker was an active participant in YWCA teen pro grams, University YWCA, Meth odist Church youth work, and the camping field. Miss Hacker attended Ohio Wesleyan University for two years before transferring to Ohio State University, where she majored in education and history. She has lived in Argen tina three years, and spent a summer of study in Mexico in 1961. Her home is in Kent, Ohio. i were hostesses at a miscellanc- ous shower at the home of the ! former. Virgil Hansen of Springfield, and Bill, the son of the James A. Walls, Spring field, will say their vows in Springfield Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. Brown of Eugene, who were married 25 years ago at the old Congre gational Church on 13th Ave nue, celebrated their silver wed ding anniversary at the new church on 23rd Avenue. Among the guests was Mrs. Arthur Ho gan, who was maid of honor at the wedding. The Browns have two daugh ters, Mrs. Fay (Gloriene) Les mcister of Seattle and Miss Lynne K. Brown, at home. Mrs. Roy Lawrence of Dupree, S. D., sister of Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Charles Ronk of Salem and Mrs. Robert Goldsmith cut the anni versary cake. Mrs. J. M. Cran dall, Mrs. Milton C. Blackman of Salem and Miss Judy Moor house poured coffee and Mrs. R. L. Moon, Mrs. Norman Fletcher of Salem and Mrs. Lesmcister served punch. Mrs. A. J. Morris was in charge of gifts and Mrs. B. G. Charles Jones was born in Ohio and came from Iowa to Oregon with his parents when he was 18. Candice Klady was born in Michigan and came with her parents to Oregon when she was about 11 years old. Both families settled in the Willam ette valley, later moving to Oak land. Four of the couple's 12 chil dren are living: Sam Jones and Mrs. Phil (Alice) Weathcrly, Oakland, Ore.; Mrs. Charles (Mabel) Neal, Oakland, Calif.; Kelley Jones of Pendleton, who was unable to attend the re union. Out-of-state guests were Dor othy, Pearl and Murray Hannon, Sacramento, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert T r u s s e 1 1, Susanville, Calif.
