James B. Williamsons To Observe Golden Day PLEASANT HILL An open house honoring Air. and Mrs. James B. Williamson on their 50th wedding anniversary will be held Sunday (July 1) from 2 to 5 p.m. standard, 3 to 6 p.m. daylight, at their home in Pleas ant Hill. Friends and relatives of the couple are invited. Mr. and Mrs. Williamson were married on June 26, 1912, in Fort Madison, Iowa, and settled in New London, Iowa, where Mr. Williamson was employed as a carpenter. In the early '30s the Williamsons moved to Mt. Union, Iowa, where they en gaged in farming until they moved to Oregon in November, 1937. For several years the couple lived on the old Harlow place near Eugene. Mr. Williamson was employed by Mahlon and Elmer Harlow on a fruit ranch. In 194S the Williamsons bought a home at Pleasant Hill and he worked as a carpenter helping to build Weyerhaeuser Lumber Co., where he worked until his retirement three years ago. The couple's two sons, Melvin Williamson of Pleasant Hill and Maynard Williamson of Spring field, will greet the guests at the Sunday reception. Their daughter, Mrs. Everett Carlson of Mt. Joseph, a granddaughter from Seattle, will cut the cake. Pouring will be Miss June Carlson and Miss Joyce Carlson, granddaughters from Mt. Union, Iowa. Mrs. Alan Mathews, a grand daughter from Jasper, will have the guest book and in charge of -gifts will be Mrs. Lee Wil liamson of Eugene. Out-of-town guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Williamson, a nephew, and family from Cory don, Iowa, and Air. and Mrs. Jack Williamson, a cousin from Salinas, Calif. The Williamsons have eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter, all of whom will be at the reception. Avocado Ripe? The bride's ballerina-length frock was of lace and tulle with a cascade of ruffles in the back. Her miniature crown of seed pearls was attached to a veil of silk organza. She carried white shasta daisies. The bridesmaid, Miss Judith Hawley of Portland, wore a dress of yellow taffet. Best man was George Thomas of Portland. Merlin Oatney, who met in I Loveland, Colo., and w ere mar i ried June 2fi. 1937. in Fort Col lins, Colo, observed their silver wedding anniversary at an open : house Sunday at their home. They have lived in Cottage Grove since 1941. The Oatneys' two daughters, Mrs. Cedric (Karen) James of Livermore. Calif., and Mrs. Bev erly Attridge of Cottage Grove, planned the anniversary party. A son, A3C Keith Oalncy, who is stationed at Lincoln Air Force Base in Nebraska, was unable to attend. There are three grand children. The refreshment table at the anniversary party was centered with a tiered cake decorated with pink roses and a silver crown bearing a silver "25." Airs. A. D.
