Group Names Delegate to ACWW Meet Oregon extension women will be represented at the Associated Country Women of the World conference in Australia this Oc tober by Mrs. Riddell Lage of Hood River. Announcement of the recipi ent of the expense-paid trip was made at the 30th annual Oregon Home Economics Extension Council at Oregon State Univer tity. "The Country Woman's Part in a Changing World" will be the theme of this tenth meeting of the association. Conferences are held every three years to encourage better person-toper-son relations between women in countries around the world. Mrs. Lage is president of OHEEC which has a member ship of more than 22.000 home makers throughout Oregon. In 1957, she was Hood River county "Woman of the Year." She has been active in the 4-H Leaders Assn., Women of Farm Bureau, Camp Fire, Toastmistress Club and PTA, holding many local and state offices m these or ganizations, ' In addition, she was secretary for her husband while he served in the Oregon legislature. She has three children: Eddie, an orchardist in partnership with his father; Judy, a senior at Oregon State University, and Betty, a senior in high school. Following the 10-day meeting In Melbourne, Australia, Mrs. Lage plans to take a tour of the Orient. Miss Pauline Walton, only living charter member of the Eugene Branch, will give a sketch on the beginning and early history of the group. The national association with which the local branch is affiliated, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
