FRPEZER DESSERTS These luscious desserts all come

easy to serve.

Imagine, fancy ice cream tarts,
bisque tnrtoni and ice cream
for much less than you'd pay at
tho store. With flavored freez
ing mix on hand you can whip
up any of these fancy desserts
in minutes.
. Pop them into the freezer and
they're ready to serve for dinner
tonight or next week, whenever
the occasion demands.
Black & White Ice Cream Pie
". 1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
, I package vanilla freezing mix
Vi cup chocolate cookie
crumbs
- Cover bottom of refrigerator
tray with cookie crumbs; reserve
about 2 tablespoons to sprinkle
Freeze Pears
For Winter
It's true! Fresh Bartlett pears
can he frozen. Try freezing them
this summer tn give your family
o r c h a r d-frcsh fruit the
'round.
Select quality pears, ripe but
firm. Wash in cold water, peel
and core; cut in quarters nr
eighths. Work quickly with small
amounts and pears will keep
their creamy color.
For the syrup, combine 114
parts sugar tn 2 parts water.
Bring to a boil. Heat pears in
boiling syrup for 1 tn 2 minutes,
depending on size of pear pieces.
Drain, spread on tray and cool
quickly heforo a cooling fan or in
refrigerator.
Tack pears into containers and
cover with cold syrup tn which
ascorbic acid has been added (Vi
teaspoon to each cup of cold
over top. Combine milk, heavy
cream. Whip in a deep bowl un
til a deep layer of foam forms.
Takes 1 to 2 minutes. Add con
tents of package ot vanilla freez
ing mix. Whip 1 more minute to
dissolve. Pour into cookie lined
freezing tray, spreading evenly.
Sprinkle- with remaining crumbs.
Freeze until firm. Mellow in re
frigerator until soft enough to
cut into pie shaped wedges. . .
Makes 6 servings.
Ice Cream Tarts
4 6 aluminum pans
1 cup milk
1 cup hcavy crcam
1 package strawberry freezing
mix
'A cup strawberry preserves
Vi cup heavy cream, whipped
Combine milk, heavy- cream.
Whip in a deep bowl until a deep
layer of foam forms. Takes 1 to
2 minutes. Add contents of pack
age of strawberry freezing mix.
Whip 1 more minute to dissolve.
Pour ico cream into pans. Swirl
a tablespoon of strawberry pre
serves through ice cream in each
pan, or use as a glaze over top
of ice cream. Pipe whipped
cream around edge and cover
pans with lids. Freeze until firm.
Mellow in refrigerator for Vz
ycar,hour before serving.
Bisque Tortoni
810 paper baking cups
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 pkg. vanilla freezing mix
1 tablespoon rum extract
Chopped nuts
Cherry halves
Put paper baking cups in muf
fin pan. Combine milk and heavy
cream. Whip in a deep bowl un
til a deep layer of foam forms.
Takes 1 to 2 minutes. Add con
tents of package of vanilla freez
ing mix. Whip 1 more minulo to
dissolve. Stir in rum extract
Pour into paper baking-cups.
