Also a guest was Bill Dellinger, the uni- , versity's great miler who lives in Springfield. Bowerman discussed the train ing that is necessary to perfect a distance runner. He noted that Springfield can boast of "one of tbe bTWmilers in the world." Dellinger currently is the fourth ranking American miler of all time, he observed.
