A teachers' reception at Brat
tain School, Springfield, Wednes

the gymnasium where a program
will be given. Mrs. Stanley Hasek
will preside and Mrs. Elizabeth
Bennett, principal, will introduce
the teachers. Refreshments will
bo served by PTA officers.

ried on by the Legion auxiliaries
at the Portland Velerans Hos
pital. Girl Staters reported on the
week they spent in Salem attend
ing Girls' State. They were Miss

Miss Kay Baxley and Miss Carol
McKeenan of Eugene High School
and Miss Gail Childers of St.
Francis High School.

It was voted lo send the first
vice president, Mrs. L. H. Hughes,

secretary's conference in Port
land Sept. 28 and 29.
Sixty dollars was allowed for
the check-of-thc-month fund. This
fund is for cigarettes, candy and
other items for the patients in
the veteran's hospitals in Oregon.

that the first potluck dinner and
dance of the year will be Sept. 28
