HISTORY OF COMMUNICATIONS A history in miniature ot prog ress in communications will be demonstrated, ranging from the ancient Athenian runner right up to use of walkie-talkie radios. African jungle ' drums, Indian smoke signals, bugles, town cri ers, pony express, telegraphy, blinker lights, carrier pigeons, and signal flags are other meth ods ot communication which will be demonstrated. Cub Scouts will demonstrate their achievement program in a three-ring show, depicting the 12 achievements for Wolf, 12 for Bear, and 12 for Lions. Thirty-six dens will take part in this event. "When Disaster Strikes" will be a fast-moving scries of epi sodes showing scouting's part in civil defense and emergency work. Auto accidents, fire "hot wires" and a breech buoy will also show their part in the civil defense Skywatch program. PIONEERING SKILLS "Rope and Timber," a demon stration of pioneering skills, will see McArthur Court quickly filled witn signal towers erected without nails, lean-to's, bridges, tents and tepees and' camp equipment. The Order of the Arrow Lodge, an honorary group, will present Indian dances in costume around an artificial camp fire, leading into tne finale of the show: Camp ing in the Great Outdoors. Special clown acts will be used to add humor to the show. All episodes of the show will be tied together with narration by Marvin Krenk. Horace Robinson, veteran director of pageants and plays, is in charge of the pro Suction.
