Anyone inside the city who owns a dog more than eighi months old must purchase a li cense for the animal according to city ordinance. Men Enter Pleas On Drinking Charges Two men charged with driving! under the influence of intoxicat ing liquor entered pleas of not guilty Monday morning in Dis trict Court. Brodie Twin To Go Home For Christmas CHICAGO Iffl This will be the first Christmas at home for 27-! month-old Rodney Brodie, the survivor of Brodie Siamese twins. Doctors at the University of Illinois Research Hospital gave their approval Sunday to the re quest of Rodney's parents to take him home for the holidays. The jubilant parents immedi ately set out by car with him for their farm home near Ferris, 111., where the little boy can become better acquainted with his four brothers and sisters. "We have no special plans," Mrs. Brodie said before leaving. "Our Christmas will be similar to that in most homes." "We have looked forward to this for a long time," said the father. "The entire family will be pres ent for the first time." Rodney has lived in hospitals since birth, first at St. Anthony's in Rock Island, where he and his twin Roger were born, then at the research hospital in Chicago. Roger died 34 days after an op eration separated them Dec. 17, 1952. Surgeons still must provide a hard protective skull cover before Rodney can leave their care. Driver Arrested Herbert Lyle Robb Jr., 24, of 63 Randall Loop, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated. Eugene officers stopped him at 10th Ave. and Polk St. He pleaded not guilty Monday morning. No trial dale was set. Carl Olson, 79, Dies Saturday Carl Olson, for 22 years a Southern Pacific agent in Spring field, died Saturday at his home. He was 79. Mr. Olson retired in 1938. He was born in Sweden April 1, 1874, and came to the United States in 1890. He was married to Eliza beth Kuntz in Wisconsin in 1900. He was an SP telegrapher in Mcdford and Forest Grove and agent for the line at Gold Hill, Glendale and Harrisburg before coming to Springfield. He lived at 833 D St. Surviving are his wife; a son, Russell, of Portland: and three grandchildren. Services will be in Barfholo- mew-Buell Chapel Tuesday at p.m., with vault interment in Rest-Haven Park. Liberty Lodge 171, AF and AM, will be in charge. Sheriff to Question Wounded Lowell Youth Deputy Sheriff Charles Smith left Eugene Monday to take statement from Joseph Daniel Bushnell, 16-year-old Lowell youth wounded Friday when he and a companion ran a hail of police bullets at a road block on High way 99 near Roseburg. Bushnell was shot in the back and left leg. The Associated Press reported him in "critical condition" Monday. His com panion, Thomas Busby, 19, of Hornbrook, Calif., escaped injury when the car crashed on a curve beyond the roadblock. The two are accused of holding up a Lowell cafe Friday. STUDENTS TO PIONEER IN CO-ED CALENDARS ALBUQUERQUE Wi Thousands of men each year take a look at artistic girls on spicy calendars and sigh: "Now, what could be prettier!" "A college coed," scream three 20-year-old University of New Mexico juniors in answer. "And we're quitting school to provo it." The three, Wally Deckert of Springfield, S. D., Larry Ross of Albuquerque, and Hank Edwards of Chapel Hill, N, C., are in dead earnest. They've put out their first calendar with photos of scantily clad coeds in place of the painted long-legged beauties. "This isn't just a crazy Joe College stunt," said Deckert, a mechanical engineering student. "We've already got our first calendar on the market here. They're going like hot cakes." The trio had to convince the university, the parents of 11 of the 12 coeds who were under 21, and a censorship board. "The university was tough," Deckert said. "The coeds were a cinch. Thc parents took some talking, but the censorship board oh, brother!" Ross, a biology student, dropped by to see Deckert last month. "One thing led to another," said Deckert. "The next thing we knew we decided to make a calendar using college coeds as the come on." The calendars financed by advertising feature a coed above each month and a cartoon alongside the dates. Not all thesgirls show their legs a concession to the censorship board but most do. "But none are suggestive," Deckert said. "The censorship board took care of that. A board made up of two deans and only one student can be pretty tough. They junked four pic tures. I still can't see why, but I guess they had their reasons." "We copyrighted our calendar and we're going to put one out next year. Then, in 1955, we'll go into the national field. I've quit school already and Hank and Larry are going to quit. Man Arrested Earl Robert Dickson, 27, of 4050 Franklin Blvd., was arrested Sat urday afternoon in a Eugene store by city police who charged him with obtaining money under false pretenses. Police reports indicat ed that Dickson had passed sev eral bad checks in town. Three City Burglaries Occur Over Weekend Eugene police Monday reported that three burglaries occurred in the city over the weekend. None of them resulted in major loss. Early Monday morning, bur glars got into Bev's Barbecue at 1900 W. 6th Ave. through a trap door in the roof. They attempted to' take the top assembly off the safe and knocked off its dial without getting in. Saturday night entries were made at the Eugene Truck and Machinery Co., 375 E. 5th Ave., and at Eugene Sand and Gravel Co. on E. 8th Ave. About $2 in stamp money was taken from the! gravel company, nothing Irom the machinery firm. Crash Kills Family of 7 CHICAGO M A family of seven was wiped out by an auto mobile-train collision at a Soo Line crossing near suburban Wheeling Sunday night. Killed .in the crash were Fred Galle, 37-year-old Cary, 111., labor er; his wife Violet, 33; and their children, Evelyn, 10, John, 8, Elaine, 6, ani Carol Ann, 1.
