Using large charts of each I.ane County precinct, she compared the vote in the primary election to the gen eral election percentage-wise. "In order to find out. how many Democrats went to the polls it was necessary to count, them from the poll books," she said. According to the count, 26.05B Democrats went to the polls, out of 32,262 registered for 81 in I.ane County; In Eu gene 82 of the registered Demo crats voted; in Springfield 75; Cottage Grove 79, and in the rest of the county 81. Of those going to the polls in November, 4B were Democrats, 51 Republicans and 3 Independent and others. Robert Y. Thornton, successful candidate for attorney general, was the only Democrat, to receive more votes than the total Democratic vole of Sfi.n.'ifi. He received 27.307. Runners up were Dale Harlan, can didate for slate representative with 24.S97; Edith Green, candidate for secretary of state with 24,729. Mrs. Freeman concluded that "from these figures it would seem that Democrats do not support their candidates even though those candidates were equal to, or su perior to their opponents." She re ported the following precincts had 90 or better Democratic vote: Eugene No. 44 and No. 48. Junction City No. 1, Alvadore, N. Davis, Fall Creek.
