Coodwm, matron of honor, wore a deep rose, ballerina-length dress of faille taf feta with full skirl, buttoned bodice and stand-up collar. She had elbow-length milts and a cap of deep-wine velvet trimmed with silver and gold beads. Her flow ers were dusty-pink and rose spider chrysanthemums. Mrs. (icorge D. Jerry J. O'Leary of Portland, was best man and Edward Van net of Hood River, Wallace Gihbs of Tigard, and Mervin Meyers of Hood River ushered. Gladiolus and spider chrysan themums in fall colors decorated the church when Mr. Frydcnlund gave his daughter in marriage. Miss Mary Hawkins, Portland, sang "All the Things You Are" and "The Lord's Prayer." Dr. Wesley G. Nicholson officiated at Ihe 4 p.m. ceremony. A reception at the Alpha Phi sorority house followed the cere mony. Mrs. John L. Woodworth cut the cake assisted by Mrs. Fred Brenne. Mrs. Frank B. Reid and Mrs. Douglas Ormc poured. Serv ers were Mrs. John N. Elder Jr., Mrs. Bruce M. Keller, Mrs. Don ald D. South, Mrs. J. A. Smith of Burlingame, Calif., Mrs. Harold B. Ritchie of Portland, and Mrs. Paul McCrackcn, Portland. At the door were Miss Antoinette Kuzmanich and Mrs. George Knab. Miss Anne Collins passed the guest book. Autumn-colored flowers and the wedding cake were table decorations. For the wedding trip down the coast to Carmel, through San Francisco, Tahoe and to Reno, the bride chose a dark brown suit wilh brown braid trim, a close filling hat trimmed with gold shells and brown accessories.' The couple will be at home in Eugene where Mr. Kitchel is employed as a lumber buyer at the Gaynor Lumber Co. Her new Chrysanthemums Decorate For Fries-Simons Ceremony St. Mary's Episcopal Church was setting for the wedding ot Miss Virginia Simons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Simons, to Robert G. Fries Sunday, Sept. 14. He is the son of Mrs. Catherine Fries of Portland. The Rev. E. .1. Bartlam per formed the 4 o'clock ceremony before an altar decorated with fall-colored chrysanthemums. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white lace fashioned wilh long sleeves. The sweeping floor-length skirt was made with a panel of pleated nylon down the front. Her waist-length veil of net was attached to a lace. Dutch-styled cap with seed pearl (rim. She carried a while prayer book adorned with stephanotis, Children's Classes Starting Monday Registration for the Bureau ot Parks and Recreation lap and bal let classes and for the pre-school group may be made from 10 a.m. lo 5 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. These classes are open to all children living within the city limits ot Eugene. Age limits for the pre-school group are iour to six years and for the tap and bal let classes four years to junior high age. Five attendants, all sororily sisters of the bride, were dressed in identical gowns. Miss Margery Fischer of Walla Walla, Wash., wore moss green and carried chry santhemums ot a lighter shade of the same colon. Mrs. Paul Schiell o Trent, Miss Constance Young of Etna. Calif., Miss Nancy Smith ot Portland, and Miss Margaret Lewis of New Westminster, B.C., wore gold and carried lighter shades of the same flowers. The dresses were designed wilh small gathered stoles of velveleen attached to matching bodices top ping the full gathered net skirts. With these, attendants wore matching bandeaux with chrysan themum trim. William Fries o Portland was best man. Ushers were Robert Shelby, Roy Mason of Etna, Calif., and James Clabby of Mediord. A reception after the ceremony was at the Zcta Tau Alpha soror ity house on the University of Oregon campus where rooms were decorated for the occasion in autumn shades. Miss Rushia Johnson cut the cake, Mrs. James McAlear poured coffee and Miss Barbara Brabham served punch. The bride wore a white knit suit with an orchid corsage and navy accessories for her wedding trip to the coast. After today the cou ple will be at home at 5341 SV 50th Ave., Portland, where the bridegroom is in business. Both are 1B52 graduates of the Univer sity of Oregon. America's RI RCH'S In Biiffprie t 100 WILLAMETTE Jane Knecht Married Here VIDA In a ceremony performed- at high noon in First Congregational church of Eu gene, Sept. 13, Miss Emily Jane Knecht of Vida was married to Arthur Raymond Moshofsky of Beaverton. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alton B. Knecht of Vida and the late Mr. Knechl. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Moshofsky of Beaverlon. Dr. Victor P. Morris performed the double-ring ceremony. Bas- kets of white and apricot gladi olus, and white candles in cande labra, decorated the altar. The bride wore a ballerina lenglh dress of white nylon net over a skirt of white satin, with a fitted lace bodice and lace mitts. The veil of illusion was attached to a lace crown. Her flowers were a white orchid sur rounded by stephanolis, with the latter flower also tied in the streamers, and carried on a white Bible. Maid of honor, Miss Mary Cockrane of Eugene, wore a peacock-blue taffeta dress of ballerina length and she carried an arm spray of apricot gladiolus and stephanotis. Bridesmaids were Miss Betty Moshofsky, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Har- rjet Vahey of Portland, in identi J ' . . . cal gowns of aqua taffeta, bal lerina length. Both carried arm sprays of apricot gladiolus. Best man was Gerald Moshof sky and three other brothers, Richard, William and Edward, were ushers. Richard and Wil liam Moshofsky lighted the can dles preceding the ceremony. An uncle of the bride, J. Har old Rodgcrs of Los Angeles, gave her in marriage. Traditional wed ding music was played by the church organist before and dur ing the ceremony. She also played accompaniments for Miss Janis Evans, who sang "I Love You" and "Through the Years." At the reception in the church parlors, Mrs. Cal Alberts cut Ihe three tiered wedding cake. The table was decorated with white flowers. Mrs. Wallace Rodgers of Los Angeles, aunt of the bride, poured and Mrs. Marvin Johns, sister of the bridegroom, served punch. For her going away costume. Ihe bride wore a beige suit and hat and accessories in red. The bride, a former McKenzie High School student, has attend ed the University ot Oregon for the past three years, She plans to study in Portland and return to the university to graduate with her class in June. She is a mem ber of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. The bridegroom was graduated from U. of O. , where he was affiliated with Alpha Tau Omega. He is now in the lumber broker age business with his brother in Portland. MOSHOFSKY (Jane Knecht) said her wedding vowi before Dr. Victor P. Morris recently at First Congregational Church. Both bride and groom are former UO students. They will make their home in Portland where Mr. Moshofsky is in business with a brother. Soroptimists Honor Member Soroptimist Club nt Eugene will honor Mrs. Frank (Olive) Barber, author of "The Lady and the Lumberjack," at noon luncheon Tuesday at Eugene Hotel. Mrs. Barber, who is a member of the Bremerton, Wash. club, will be remembered by many Eugeneans for the column which she wrote several years ago for Ihe Eugene Morning News and, later, for the Register-Guard. Party to Honor Anniversary Mrs. H. R. Emerson and her daughter, Miss Thelma Schaefer, will have open house Sunday (to day) from 2 to 6 p.m., in honor of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Schaefer on their 25th wedding anniversary. The event will be in the couple's home on Crest Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Schaefer were married in Eugene in 1P.27. All but one of their five sons and daughters will be present.
