GORDON DIEBEL (Sharon George), daughter of Lt. Col. and Mr, John D. George of Fort Sill, Okla., was married in Eugene recently. Nuptial Mass Weds Couple A , .... A double-ring ccrcmonv at nuptial high Mass Aug. 16 wedded Miss Mary Patricia Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Brown, and Francis Patrick Croak of Salinas, Calif. The Mass was sung in Gregorian chant and the choir sang "Ave Maria" at the offertory. The Rev. Father Basil, O.S.B., officiated at the 10 a.m. ceremony in St. Mary's Catholic Church. White gladiolus and pink daisies decorated the altar and sanctuary and white gladiolus decked the pews. Mrs. Dale Coo ley played the organ. Mr. Brown escorted his daugh ter down the aisle. She wore a lace bodice and net yoke with long sleeves topping a skirt of nylon-net over satin, with a short train. Her fingertip veil, edged in lace, was held in place by a seed pearl tiara, and she carried gar denias and stephanotis. Miss Dorothy Brown was maid of honor for her sister in a floor length gown of white nylon marquisette over aqua taffeta. Her bouquet and tiara-type head piece were of white daisies. An other sister, Miss Joanne Brown, and Misses Eleanor Megale and Diane Kremmel, both of Port land, were bridesmaids. All three wore aqua-colored gowns of nylon-marquisette over taffeta, fashioned like that of the maid of honor. Their head-pieces were of Ray Whalen, San Francisco, was best man for Mr. Croak and Joe Megale, Jack Adair and Paul Greig were ushers. Danny Brown, the bride's brother, was ring-bearer. A reception at the Eugene hotel followed the ceremony. Mrs. Agnes Schotthoefer cut the cake and Mrs. R. J. Hlggins poured. Both women are aunts of the bride. Mrs. William Bliss as sisted with the serving whilb Miss Theresa Brown took care of the gifts and Mrs. Paul Greig passed the guest book. When the couple left for a wedding trip through Yellow stone Park, the bride wore a two piece navy knit dress with navy accessories and rod belt. Her corsage was of red carnations. Mrs. Brown was graduated from St. Mary's High School and Marylhurst College. She taught in Portland schools for two years. The bridegroom was graduated in engineering from the University of Santa Clara. The couple is at home in Salinas where Mr. Croak is employed. Kansas Club Sets Luncheon Meeting Kansas Club members will meet Tuesday with Mrs. L. E. Williams at her home, Rt. 2, Box 238 L, Harlow Rd. (old State Game Farm Road, one-half mile north). A covered-dish lunch eon will be served at noon, for which members are asked to take their own table service. For fur ther information, members may call 4-6187 or 5-6357. Miss Sharon Lee George, daughter of Lt, Col. and Mrs. John D. George, former Eugean eans now stationed at Fort Sill, Okla., became the bride of a Eugene man, Gordon Diebel, Aug. 16 at Eugene's First Con gregational Church. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Diebel are parents of the bridegroom. Dr. Wesley G. Nicholson heard the couple's vows at 8 p.m. Small pink, yellow and lavender chrysanthemums mixed with white stock decorated the church and special music was by Miss Roma Miltonberger. She sang "Wedding Prayer," accompanied by. Miss Ruth Magart. The bride's dress of white organdy, ballerina-length, the full skirt over net, was worn with white organdy triangle stole-effect jacket enhanced with an all-over embroidery design. Her short veil was caught up in a band of braided net and pearls and the bride carried a nosegay of white carnations and orchids. Colonel George gave his daugh ter in marriage. Three attendants preceded the bride down the aisle, Miss Jane Handy of Silverton, maid of honor and Miss Julia Lundy and Miss Janice Taylor, bridesmaids. Miss Handy was in bouffant skirted yellow organdy, bal lerina length, and carried pink and yellow carnations. The bridesmaids, one in green or gandy, the other in pink, also carried carnations. Elaine An derson was flowe girl. Best man was Iforman Diebel, brother of the groom and Donald Thomas and John George ush ered. In charge of the guest book and gifts was Miss Donna Hart. Serv ing at the reception immediately after the wedding were: Mrs. L. McCarty, aunt Of the bride, Mrs. L. C. Thomas, Mrs. George W. Miltonberger and Mrs. Norman Diebel. The bride and groom left the day following the wedding for Monterey, Calif, where they will make their home until Mr. Diebel reports for overseas military duty. A graduate of University of Ore gon, he is presently stationed near there at Camp Cooke. Mrs. Diebel also attended the university and is a member of Delta Delta Delta. FRANCIS PATRICK CROAK (Mary Patricia Brown) is at home at Salinas, Calif., following her marriage here in mid-August Pastor Performs First Marriage FLORENCE Miss Wanda Stitt and Roger Tipler were married at Evangelical United Brethren Church, Aug. 16 at a 4 o'clock ceremony. The Rev. Alfred E. Ennes, new pastor of the church, performed the ceremony in a bower of pastel gladiolus and fern. It was the first wedding per formed by the minister. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stitt of Florence and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Tipler, also of Florence. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Muriel Rickard sang "O Promi ise Me" and "Because" with Miss Anna V. Bray playing the piano accompaniment and wedding mu sic. Given In marriage by her fa ther, the bride was gowned in white bridal satin, fashioned with a lace bodice which had a large bertha collar of lace. She carried a white orchid and stephanotis on a white Bible. Miss Frances Eller of Cottage Grove, maid of honor, wore a gown of pastel green satin, bal lerina length. Her cap and gloves were of white nylon and her corsage of orchids. The bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Jo Stitt, the bride's sister and Miss Doris Tipler, sister of the groom, who wore pink; Miss Florance Tipler, another sister of the groom, and Mrs. LeRoy Bar low of Bakersfield, Calif., both gowned in blue nylon. For going away, the bride wore a pink linen tailored suit with white accessories and her wed ding orchid. The couple made a trip through Washington and into Canada, and will be at home at Florence. Prior to the wedding, Miss Stitt was honored at two showers. Mrs. Paul Stout entertained at Cottage Grove and Mrs. Leroy Burnett was hostess for a shower at Flor ence. ESA Chapter At Y Center Alpha Zeta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha will meet Wed nesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Y Center, 1076 Willamette St. Plans for the First State Coun cil meeting, which will take place in Eugene Sept. 6 and 7, will be discussed. Mrs. Robert Thomas will, be in charge. St. Mary's Catholic Church was decorated with baskets of pink and white gladiolus and asters and lighted tapers for the nuptial Mass Aug. 16 at which Miss Evelyn Kadrmas was mar ried to Donald Ficek. Pew deco rations were of the same flow ers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kadrmas of Eugene, the bridegroom the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Ficek of Springfield. The couple will live here after Mr. Ficek, who is stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska, completes his period of army duty. The Rev. Thomas Becker cele brated the nuptial Mass at 11:13 Organ music was by Mrs. Dale Cooley. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white lace over satin, made with full train and full gathered peplum in bustle effect across the back. Pearls ornamented the high neckline of the bodice, and the bridal veil fell to fingertip length from a tiara of rhine stones and pearls. The bride's bouquet was of peach gladiolus and chrysanthemums. Matron of honor, Mrs. Matt Kary, aunt of the bride, wore a gown of light lavender and car 'ried cream gladiolus. Miss Pa tricia Mitchell, in blue taffeta, and Miss Colleen Ficek of Wood burn, whose dress was of yellow taffeta, were bridesmaids. They carried pink gladiolus. Two young sisters of the bride, Lin da and Shirley Kadrmas, served as flower girls, their frocks, one blue, the other rose, made with lace overskirts and trimmed in gold sequins. They carried bask ets. Larry Ficek, brother of the groom and Larry Kadrmas, bro ther of the bride, shared best man honors. Ushers were Terry Gullickson and Gene Ficek. A wedding dinner for 100 guests at 2 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents followed the ceremony. Aunts of the bride, Mrs. Ted Gullickson, Mrs. Tony Schmidt and Mrs. Dave Whit latch, served. Later at a recep tion, the bride's cake was cut and served by Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Leonard Moyer. Gladiolus in a variety of colors were the decorations. In the evening 250 guests at tended a wedding dance in hon or of the couple at the Scio Hall. Guests from Dickinson, N.
