CRESWELL Women of the Presbyterian Church have voted to form a Womens Association instead of the Ladies' Aid Society which the group has been called. The women plan a numoer or improvements tor the church manse, including new stairway covering and new screen doors. Mrs. Dorris, Mrs. Schwering. Mrs. Gerald G. Emerson and Mrs. Thomson will meet with repre sentatives of the other Creswell churches to plan the annual Daily Vacation Bible School. A $2.50 Girl Scout camnershirj to Camp Cloawox has been voted. Mrs. Schwering, Mrs. Thomson. Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. H. A. Simmons, Mrs. Doyle, Mrs. William Evans, Mrs. W. B. Gillespie and Mrs. Dorris will plan the menu for the annual dinner, to be held next fall. Mrs. Gillespie and Mrs. George Gwyther have been ap pointed to send remembrances to the local high school and eighth grade graduates. Dorcas Circle of the Methodist Church held the annual dues par ty, Wednesday afternoon. Lane County Sub-District meeting of the Womens Society for Christian Service was announced for Mayl 20 at Cottage Grove. The Circle gave a vote of thanks to J. E. Smith for all the work he has done recently at the church. Mrs. F. E. Vick, Mrs. L. H. Brown and Mrs. R. E. Wright will enter tain the Circle in June. Mrs. A. E. Elliott was elected chairman of the Home Extension Unit, Thursday afternoon with Mrs. J. V. Birdsong, vice chair man; and Mrs. L. A. Whitney, secretary-treasurer. The members voted to change the meeting day to the second Tuesday of each month when the Unit resumes ac tivities next fall. The cook book which the mem bers compiled, is now ready for distribution and may be obtained from Mrs. L. I. Chestnut. The price is 75 cents. It will be strictly amateur. The queen will be selected from girls be tween the ages of 15 and 20 who wish to compete and who sell the most rodeo tickets.
