Airport Zoning
Board Asked
County Asked
To Consider Matter
The possibility that the Lane
County Court might establish
county airport roning board was
discussed at a meeting between
court officials and Springfield
city officials Tuesday.
MAYOR B. P. LARSON, Coun
cilman Ed Reiersgaard, and City
Manager L. B. Bartlett asked the
Court to investigate the feasibility
for setting up such a board. The
Springfield officials took the ac
tion following recommendation of
the Oregon State Board of Aero
nautics that such a body be established.
Under tentative plans, the coun
cils of Eugene and Springfield
would appoint members to the
board, and the Court would do
likewise. The members would aid
in controlling air zones around
county airports to protect flight
paths.
County commissioners and
Judge Day T. Bayly agreed to
study the proposal further and to
work with Eugene and Spring
field officials in the matter. The
Springfield group also- asked the
court to relinquish their part of a
right of way that would clear the
way for paving I St. from 19th to
21st Sts. The proposed road would
open a new route to Maple School.

while Granpa Vanderhof (Chuck Adams) reads the paper,
Boris (Bruce Holt) directs Essie's dance, and Bheba, the
maid, (Angie Muhr), Penelope (Marita Newton), Donald,
the maid's boy friend (Bobbie Hixon), and Alice (Joan
Wbitworth) look on from the side. The show will be pre
sented in the school auditorium.
COMMISSIONERS asked that
action be deferred until receipt
of a letter from Springfield School
Board stating the Board's wishes
In the matter. Part of the right
of way involves school property.
