(U.R) There is excitement in the air as Las Vegas prepares to celebrate its 18th annual Helldorado Week, May 15-18. The town is working up a head of steam which will bust out all over when spring comes to the desert and Helldorado brings back the rowdy picturesque days of the early west with parades and pageantry, rodeos, a beard-growing competition, beauty contests and square dancing in the main thoroughfares. Designed to perpetuate the pio neer spirit and customs of frontier times in Nevada, the occasion will find almost the entire populace looking like cowpokes and their women folk in from the hinter lands, dressed in their western best. Helldorado revolves around its main events, the oldtimer's par ade, beauty parade, children's narade, nightly rodeos, the whis kerino contest fof excellence in beards, beauty competition among the women and constant merri ment In a specially constructed Helldorado village with all the amusements of a county fair. The oldtimer's narade finds old animal-drawn vehicles of many descriptions, reclaimed from the limbo ot the past, jolting down the main street In a picturesque two-mile procession of covered wagons, stagecoaches, buggies, buckboards and the like. 7 :00 :19 Liberty Jamboree Hemingway Farm Spotllte Breakfast Gang Cal Tlnney Breakfast Gang Harry Babbitt Good Morning Riders of the Sage Rhythm Roundup Agronsky Rural Roundup Bob Garred Rhythm Roundup Koognn Calls Roundup.
