Register-Guard, Eugene, Ore., rage i g sun., Jan. 18, 1952 Farmers Co-op Has New Store Anual Meet Set In New Building The Eugene Farmers Co-op, a cooperative farm supply store, Is moving to' a new location. Manager Herman A. Heln said the move to the new building, t . 675 McKinley (just west of the Big Y Market), will be com pleted early this week. The new itructure, a 40 by 140 foot frame and metal sheeting building, was constructed by members of the co-op, Hein said. It Includes farm equipment repair shop. The local co-op has about 400 members, in addition to serving other farmers who are not mem bers. It handles farm building supplies, general farm supplies, farm appliances, and oils and gasoline. At present the co-op will con tinue to sell oil and gasoline from its bulk tank plant on Sth Ave. in the 1600 block. That will be moved to the new location later this year, Hein said. The former location of the farm itore was 1585 W. 7th Ave. Hein said members of the co op will hold their annual meet ing in the new building on Feb. 25. Parents Fire Tough Teacher . They said ehromate salt com pounds used in dlesel locomotive radiator fluid can cause serious, crippling skin inflamatlons. There is a high rate of sensitiv ity to such compounds, the doc tors said. They recommend that workers who are exposed to the fluid wear rubber gloves and boots, waterproof aprons and sleeves. I Municipal Judge William D.j Bollman found that Canady failed ' to appear Oct. 18 at a hearing on ' the charge. He had been arrested; at 4th and Main Sts. His $50 bail ; bond had been forfeited, but was! refunded to a bonding company! 'Fourth Worst Year' For Polio Cases SALEM (JP) Last year was the fourth worst polio year in Oregon's history, with 370 cases reported, Gov. Douglas McKay said last week. The total was 150 less than in 1950. The governor said 35 per cent of the cases involved patients more than 20 years old. About 18 per cent of the cases were of the bulbar or respiratory type, which is the most severe of all types. Fifty one per cent were spinal paralysis, 23 per cent were non-paralytic, and 8 per cent were unspecified. HUNTS WITH OAR BURLINGTON, Vt.
