Planes were ground ed, shipping disrupted and com munications broken. A Philippines air lines plane left for the United States six hours ahead of schedule, to escape 60-miie-an-hour winds expected to hit Manila by Thursday. The typhoon, with its torrential rains and 90-mile-an-hour winds, caused heavy damage to crops as it cut westward across Samar, Masbate and Romblon Islands. A weather bureau forecast indicated the center of the typhoon would strike the southern tip of Minoro Island, 170 miles south of Manila, and pass on into the China Sea. Sears, Roebuck To Sell Autos Agreement Reached With Kaiser-Frazer DETROIT (U.R) Sears, Roe buck and Co., which sells every thing from girdles to fishing tackle, is going into the automo bile business in a novel agreement with the Kaiser-Frazer Corp. The huge mail order and de partment store chain and the na tion's youngest car-maker an nounced that K-F will produce a low-prived car called the "All state" which will go on sale in 17 Cears stores by Christmas. . The new auto, in appearance, engineering 'and price will be much like K-F's 100-inch wheel base Henry J, but it will have some distinguishing styling char acteristics. Specifications and prices of the new cars were not announced, but it was understood that K-F's more than 2800 dealers have been assured that Sears will not un dersell them. Advertised factory delivered prices of the Henry J. are $1362 for the four-c;"inder and model and $1564 for the deluxe six. North Korean Radio Reports UN Invasion TOKYO (Wednesday) UP) The North Korean radio said last night that Allied forces tried to invade the Ongjin Peninsula northwest of Seoul and were re pulsed with the loss of three war ships. Japanese Approve U. S. Security Pact TOKYO (P) Emperor. Hiro hito Monday signed the Japanese Peace Treaty and the U, S.-Japan Security Pact. His signature, at Nara where he is on tour, completed Japanese action on the documents. The Diet gave its approval Sunday. The United States Senate was expected to do likewise early next year. No Injunction In Meat Case PORTLAND (UR) The first ol the Office of Price Stabiliza tion suits against Oregon slaugh terhouses ended this week in Port land without any action being taken. Federal Judge James Alger Fee said he would not issue an in junction against the Singlehouse Slough Slaughterhouse, Coos Bay, and its operator, James Yocum, since the plant now apparently is complying with meat regulations. Judge Fee warned, however, that the slaughterhouse would face an injunction against slaught ering if it should become delin quent in filing OPS reports. Suomela said Wednesday the state fish commission was convinced the shrimp concentrations off the Oregon Coast were "sufficiently large for commercial fishing." Suomela reported the shrjmp bed lies off Cape Foulweather near Depoe Bay to the Columbia River in water 300 to 600 feet deep. Experimental drags with a small net brought in 10 pounds of I shrimp in a 15-mmute sweep. "The shrimp were found in green mud on the ocean bottom." he said, "and are of the same species as the pink shrimp of Alaska."
