The plates win go onto cars In 1950. but one-twelfth of them will expire every month. Secretary of State Earl Newbry .will send nut statements, telling motorists how 1 much to pay for the plates. There after the license may be renewed annually. The plates will be mailed, be ginning Nov. 15. They cannot be Dut on auios until Dec. 15. Num bers assigned o the cars will be permanent. Newbry said applications for special numbers no longer can be accepted. His office has issued about 16.000 special numbers. Another hour-long film, "People from the U.S.S.R.," will be fea tured Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. in the same room of Friendly Hall. These two movies are part of thei depart ment instructional program. Later in the school year, the Russian Arts Club in conjunction with the Foreign Film Club hopes to sponsor three or four Russian full-length movies which will be open to the public. The first of these 16 millimeter films will be "Ivan the Terrible." The Club hopes lo show it sometime dur ing November. Admission will be charged. English sub-titles will be shown with all Russian movies. Albany Slates Auction To Pay for Stadium ALBANY A choice city lot, four used cars and trucks, a turkey banquet for fifty persons, live stock, and carloads of new and used merchandise arc beins do nated by Albany merchants for an auction sale. Scheduled for Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the 4-H pavilion near Wavcrly Lake, the sale is a fund-raising venture for the partially-completed memorial stadium begun this spring.
