He was born in Rupert, Idaho, March 24. 1915. He attended the southern branch of the University of Idaho, at Pocatello, for two years, where he played football, after which he transferred to the University of Idaho, at Moscow, where he was graduated in 1940. He en- usiea in tne u.s. Army, June io, 1942, at Pocatello, and attended officers school at the Harvard Business School, Boston, Massa chusetts, where he graduated August 1943 at which time he was discharged as a sergeant. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Army, August 1943, at Fort Douglas, Utah, as a lieutenant. He served in the Central Pacific Eastern Mandates, Western Pacific Air Offensive, and Japan, as a sta- fictif.al nnlrr,! nffinev nnri r ceived the Asiatic Pacific cam-1 paign medal. He was discharged it Fort Douglas, Utah, March 14, 1946, as a captain. He was super intendent of schools at MacKay, Idaho, prior to moving to Eu gene, September 1. He was at tending the University of Ore gon to oDtain nis masters degree. He is a member of the Episcopal Church.
