Paul Lafferty, who will have charge of the climb, said that all persons planning to go must reg- Bus Burned On West Side A bus owned by Irene Lind green, 763 Madison St., caught fire !at 3:58 a.m., Tuesday morning, where it was parked for the night at the side of the new Carother's Sheet Metal Co., 1820 Seventh Ave. West. According to the Eugene Fire Dept., the blaze must have started at the rear of the bus. The bus was almost entirely demolished. The Fire Dept. was not notified in time to the save the bus, but dirf save the new Carothers Building which was scorched on the side. A section of the roof was also damaged, A nearby truck was also scorched. Firmen answered a call to the Eugene Hotel at 11:18 a.m. Mon day morning. A back door was smoldering, .probably caused by a cigarette. A grass fire at 21st and Garfield called firemen at 2:13 p.m., but .resulted in no damage. The blaze was blamed to a careless smoker. Nine cars leaking gas were re ported Tuesday. This is caused by cars with full tanks parked on the left side of one way streets and is becoming a greater hazard every day in bugene. rne Dire Dept. urges care when parking on the left hand side to be sure that your gas tank is not spilling over because of the tilt of the car. ister at Hendershott's. Climbers will drive to Ffog Camp, and hike four and a half miles to Sunshine Shelter. They must be there at, 6 a.m. to begin the climb, which will be two and a half miles each way and require about six hours. Lafferty said' that instruction would be given on the way. The tenderfoot climb is an an nual event with the Obsidian Club. Each year the organization at tempts to interest at least 100 per sons in making the climb.
