Lowe, Spring Held, Coroner Phil Bartholomew reported. The car wai parked on Harlow Road, and Mr. and Mrs. Lowe be came curious after they noticed the car on the way to the depot with friends, and saw that it was still there on their way home. Motive Unknown Bartholomew said Bogart had mUn himroif with ji nlstol. and that the pistol was found In his hand. No motive was Known. Bogart lived in Springfield be fore moving to Eugene, and at the time of his death was employed at a Eugene garage. German Sentenced For 'Match-Making' DUESSEI.DORF, Germany (AP) A German court at Wup Dertal sentenced Paul Friedrlchs to serve eight months in Jail Monday on a charge that he shared his wife with friends and fellow workers for pay. The prosecutor said "Friedrichs made extra money by Inviting friends and fellow workers to his home and then offering them his wife," who was described as be ing between 30 and 40 years old. The specific charge against Friederichs, a mechanic, was that he violated a German law barring "match-making." His office will accept all applications up to and including March Fletcher said that the specialists from Oregon State College are scheduled to begin field inspec tions in the county on March 29. If possible, he would like to re ceive all applications by the end of this week to facilitate paper work. Farmers applying are reminded to bring the blue tags from all bags in which they purchased their certified seed last fall. That Is, seed which was used to plant the present crop of vetch. They also are asked to have with them records of crops grown in 1948. 1947 and 1948 on the ground where the vetch to be in spected Is now growing. Lane Dairymen Slate Annual Sessions The annual meeting of the Lane County Dairy Herd Improvement Assn., Is scheduled for Wednes day in the 4-H Club building on the county fairgrounds. General business will be con ducted in the morning session and the afternoon program is open to all dairymen whether or not they are members of the association. County Agent O. S. Fletcher said that the program should be of In terest to all dairymen. Officials of the group have an nounced that they have enough herds signed up to start another testing unit on April 1. Allison, debate coach at Eugene High School. Four first place trophies were won by the local group. Nancy Ann Yates won first arid Marvin Wegster won third place for ex temporaneous speaking; and Nan cy O'Connor won first and Mary Ann Yates, second place, for jnv prompt sneaking. The following teams tied for first place in senior division de bating: Pat Wasson and Howard Myers, and Ardlth Bailey and Phil Newman. Two Eugene High school teams won first place honors in junior debate: David Black, Bob Ford, and Billie Hamilton.
