Ind. (U.F9 Henry Huppenthal said this week he has the most fantastic farm on earth. It's an agricultural phenomenon, he s a 1 d, a place where 29,000 square yards of earth have bulged up IS feet higher than the sur rounding land. Huppenthal has been watching his farm "grow" for years until now It has reached startling pro portions. Churning Loam The farmer has called In soil experts to study the rich, black loam that churns up from the aiop nis nara ciay. He said that earlier he consult ed geologists who told him that an underground stream apparently was pushing the rich bottom soil upward. Earth Eruption But Huppenthal prefers to be lieve that the phenomenon Is "an eruption of the earth's core." Whatever it Is, he said. It's all right with him. The soil,' Is so productive that It produced more than 11B bushels of corn to the acre this year. Once, Huppenthal said, he tried lo grow oats In the rich loam, but the experiment was a failure. The yield was so heavy that the stems of the crop collapsed under the weight Huppenthal said chemical analy sis of the raised earth showed that it Is silt loam with an "excellent" content of nitrogen, phosphorous and hydrogen. It is also free of Insect matter.
