Huey, who died in service with the U.S. Navy In Alaska on Jan. 4, 1044, will be, buried with military honors at 2 p'jn. Saturday, Oct. 24. He was 35 years old and was born at Mar shall, N.C. On Dec. 22, 1927 he married Nona M. Roberson at Wise,.Va. Besides his widow he is sur vived by eight children, Douglas, Curtis, Sue, Emma, Rodney, Peg gy, Janet and Geraldine,' all of Alvadore; father, Charles A. Huey, Alvadore; three sisters, Agnes Mulllns, Roy, N.M., Vir ginia Hays, Greensboro, Pa., and Lucille Hughes Welch, W. Va. Services will be at the Poole Larsen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Collins officiating. Petticord, who has just returned from two World Conferences in Europe, will speak Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, 8th and Monroe Sts., and will show colored slides he per sonally took of present - day Europe. Dr. Petticord, president of the Western School of Evangelical Re ligion, Portland, attended the Youth for Christ World Congress on Evangelism In Beattenberg, Switzerland; and represented the National Association of Evangeli cals at a World Conference in Amsterdam. He will speak on "The Possible Modern Reforma tion" in which he will discuss modern religious trends observed through personal Interviews In Milan, Rome and Naples, Italy. Dr. Petticord will also give eye witness accounts of the Gospel preached and received In Europe, of the "Red Menace" and threat to peace, of the need of Euro pean Youth, and will present an answer to the ills of Europe. The public is invited to this communiity meeting, sponsored by the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Choral Group to Give 'Messiah' December 5 Five hundred voices from the University of Oregon school of music will present Handel's "Mes siah" in McArthur court Sunday, Dec. 5th, according to Dean Theo dore Kratt of the school of music. The University orchestra will accompany the 500-voice chorus and the soloists, who will be se lected from the student partici pants soon, said Dean Kratt. The program will be frorf 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Ellen Nancy Squires Ellen Nancy Squires, 71, died at her Springfield home Tuesday. Ellen Nancy Miller was born In Blue River, Minn. Feb. 19, 1877, and married Ben Squires Oct. 21, 1897. They moved to Tappen, N. D., then to Calsax, Wash., and to Springfield 22 years ago. Surviving are her widower; 12 children, Ronald, of Yacolt, Wash., Mrs. Vera Klouda, Springfield, Mrs. Thelma Breise, LaCenter, Wash., Cecil Squires, Mrs. Elenora Thomas, Freeman Squires and Mrs. Lorraine Proclw, all of Springfield, Mrs. Aldls Warner, Lima, Ohio, Everett Squires and Mrs. Faye Williams, Eugene, Mrs. Lela Stelzreide, San Fran cisco; 36 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. She was a mem ber of the Springfield Christian Church. Services will be at the Bar-tholomew-Buell Chapel in Spring field, Saturday, Oct. 16 at 1:80 p.m. The Rev. Claude O'Brien will officiate, and interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. William F. Kelsay William F. Kelsay, Jasper, died of a heart attack while deer hunt ing on Oct. 12. He was born May 24, 1878 near Lowell and had liv ed in the Upper Willamette Val ley region all his life. His resi dence had been at Jasper for the past five years. He is survived "by his daughter. Mrs. Marie McCarroll, Oregon City; two sons, William of Eugene, and Grover of Jasper; six sisters, Mrs. Effie Robbinette and Mrs. Belle Farrier of Eugene, Mrs. Eth el Brown of Salem, Mrs. Lavina Hills of Oakridge, Mrs. Bessie HiUs of Estacada, and Miss Leatha Kelsay of LaGrande; two brothers, Floyd of Lowell . and Robert of Oakridge; and Six grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Fri day, Oct. IS at the Foole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene, with the Rev. Claude O'Brien officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. Carl F. Kuhl Carl F. Kuhl, Marcola, died in Eugene, Oct. 12, at the age of 62 years. He is survived .by his wife, Alice.
