Eugene 940 Pearl for the thrlU of it, they drum up some hectic domino duels. But when it comes to recreation, they just bait up the old hook and take off to the nearest fishing hole. Mrs. Brown has a lily-covered pond. Sometimes they fish there. On other occasions they trek to Chickamauga. Lake. Occasionally, they even get down to Florida, fishing in Inland waters or in the gulf. When they're farther south, It's high-falutin' tackle for the matri arch. But in Georgia, It's plain worm, wasp-grub and minnow. The sisters grew up in the mountain country. Mrs. Blaylock was born of a father who took hunting as his hobby. She shad owed him, acquiring the habit then. "I guess I'll never outgrow It," she says. Good Catches And every now and then the sisters come up with some good sized catches. Mrs. Blaylock hook ed a 14-pound grouper and 15 pound garfish in Florida. Mrs. Brown landed a six-pound red fish. The "children" are getting used to coming home and reading poe tic little notes like this: "With hooks and lines and can of bait. Now, don't wait supper, we may be late. Panama Air Permit Dropped PANAMA (IP) The govern ment has cancelled the Panaman ian registry of 10 airplanes of Llnets Aereas Panamianian (Lap- sa) which it said have engaged in Illegal arms traffic to Palestine. The action was based on an in vestigation by the government and a report submitted by the United States. The resolution effecting the can cellation said the planes had been used as transport and bombing auxiliaries, carrying pilots, me chanics, unfused bombs and spare parts between Czechoslovakia and the Arab states via Corsica and Catania, in Sicily. 4 Father of Actress Held for Burglary LOS ANGELES (IP) Police arrested a man they identified as Carter de Haven, 61, former actor and father of film actress Gloria de Haven. He was booked on suspicion of burglary. Radio Patrolman L. F. Tucker said he arrested the man after re ceiving reports of a prowler in the Wilshire District. The suspect was carrying a pair of small field glasses, Tucker said. He gave his occupation as actor and radio technician, the officer reported. Carter de Haven was prominent on the vaudeville stage and on the silent screen many years ago. De Haven said that he was only "waiting for a friend." , Girls' Pleas Heeded . COirOMIION DOCTOR Yearly Roundup Family Style FORT ST. JOHN, B. C (CD Bill Boring limped Into this Alas ka highway town and told a tale of feudin' Texas-Style in the ranching country between the highway and the Rockies. He pointed to a gunsnot, wound in nis arm as proof. Police sent a posse to Halfway, B. C, to pick up Bill's brothers, John and Eugene Boring, on an at tempted murder charge. According to police, the incident climaxed an annual shooting af fray which had continued for the best part of the 20 years since the Texan-born brothers settled in the district. The occasion, police say, is roundup time. The brothers have several hundred head of cattle and neighbors report hearing gunfire from the ranch every year as the brothers, their wives and numer ous children differ as to the split in the profits. Neighbors have learned to keep out of the ruckus. Portland List PORTLAND. Sent.
