H.E.C. met Tuesday for the "Mystery Sister" party. New "mystery sisters" will be drawn at the next meeting. One hundred Army mess trays were ordered for sale. Mrs. Roxcoe Allen and Mrs. Warren Allen were present repre senting the Franklin Christian Church to help plan for the New Year's Watch Party in cooperation with the Grange to be held at the hall on New Year's Eve. Those at tending are asked to please bring a cake or dozen sandwiches. Gifts were distributed from a lighted tree and Pollyannas were revealed. Names also were drawn for Polly annas for next year. Mrs. A. E. Elmendorf and Mrs. E. E. Allen will assist Mrs. G. R. Miller with the potluck dinner at the Miller home for the January meeting. The dance Is open to the public WALTERVILLE At Grange last week, the charter was draped in memory of George Willian. The Grange voted on state of ficers. The Christmas party was planned for Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. at the hall and presents are not to exceed 50 cents. The articles for the men, women, and children will be kept separate. Pop corn, candy and nuts will be the re freshments. A large class of candidates were initiated: Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Ben son, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Frazee, Mr. Colpits, Mr. and Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Joe Zehner, Robert Zehner. Mr. Reid, Norman Rhinehart, Carol Lee Weist and Patty Neu, all for the Walterville Grange with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Strand from the Thurston Grange. SANTA CLARA Grange met Tuesday. New officers in charge. C. Vanderpol and Darroll Barker were Installed as gatekeeper and overseer. Robert Knutsen and Mrs. Mary Eloisa Eaton were obli gated In the third and fourth de gree. Mrs. H. R. Emerson, lecturer of the grange arranged to have Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swezey presented to the master's station where the new master Carlile Craig gave them the grange 25 year pins. New committees for 1948 are agriculture, C. D. Cliezem, Lulu Chapman and Ernest Palmer; leg islative, Mrs. D. W. Holloway, Mrs. Mabel Chadwick and Cecil Wicks; Home Economics, Mrs. Roy Overgard, Mary E. Sederlin, Mrs. Minnie Bennett and Mrs. Bertie Kellogg; relief, Mrs. Minnie Bennett, Mrs. Fred Crutchly, and Milo Hart; finance, D. W. Hollo way, Mrs. Leslie Higgins and W. E. Barbee; flood control, W. E. Barbee, Trnest Palmer, Roy Over gard; wild life, Carlile Craig; irli gation, Wilmer Walton; buildings and grounds, Roy Overgard, O. A. Thompson, and C. Vanderpol. A Christmas program and tree with gifts, and a basket social was en joyed and $22 was cleared. Santa Clara Home Economics Club met Friday with Mrs. E. G. Vogt for a Christmas party. Every one learned who their secret sis ters for 1947 were. Reports were read, club earned $391.86, $343.50 was turned over to the grange to apply on the building and grounds. Next club meeting will be with Mrs. Delbert Addleman. LORANE Grange meets Tues day evening, Dec. 23 for their Christmas party and gifts. TRIANGLE GRANGE Tuesday evening, third and fourth degrees were given Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bell, Jr., Nellie Wolfe, Mrs. Ed win Steinhauer, and Jerry Lawth-er. Grangemaster Joseph Ballf ap pointed the following committees to serve for 1948, the chairmen being the first named: Harry Rob ertson, Toni Sumich, and Stuart Myers a griculture; Harold O'Flyng, Matilda Graham, Alvena 'Roberts finance; Leona Johnson, Winifred Hult, Opal Syphers youth; Vergil Parker, L. A. Hul burt, Ed Steinhauer legislative: Opal Syphers, Blenda O'Flynr. Katherine Savage, Walter Robertr relief; Clarice Barnett home economics. State Grange officers were voted on. The grange will pur chase new curtains for the hall, with the home economics com mittee in charge. It was also voted to build a new chimney for the kitchen, with H. E. O'Flyng and Alvena Roberts in charge. There will be a carnival and dance, New Year's Eve, to which all grangers and their friends are invited. Music by Gene Slayter's orchestra. After the business session, the grange's male quartet, Tom Min ter, Harry Robertson, Elmer An drews, and Harold O'Flyng, ac companied by Mrs. Andrews, sang Christmas songs.
