VA Dental Clinic Prepares
To Give Free Exams, X-Rays
Veterans with service-connect
ed tooth troubles may now receive
free examinations and X-ray at
the new Veterans Administration
dental clinic at Room 325, Hamp
ton Building, Sixth and Willam

tain actual treatment there, the
local VA office said Wednesday.
A dentist, dental assistant and
stenographer are on hand in the
four-room suite of offices, and are
prepared to make the examina
tions that will be prepared with
service dental records.
Any veteran who served six
months will be eligible for the

must obtain a claims number, and
then take the exam.

join the clinic soon, and after that
veterans may have actual dental

Polio Outbreak
LONDON VP) An outbreak of
infantile paralysis (poliomyelitis)
of record proportions in some lo
calities was indicated in European

The British outbreak was the
most widespread since record
keeping began in 1912. Cases this
year totaled 4856 up to Sept. 6.

discussion in Portland Thursday
and Friday when the Bonneville
Regional Advisory Council holds
its regular meeting.
Mayor Earl McNutt, a member
of the council, will attend the ses
sions, at which discussion also is
scheduled on the redefinition of
power shortages in the light of
recent findings by the power pool.

ence Belknap, head of the Oregon
State Cooperative Assn.; Frank
