Fish Bill Ratified Minus Wanted Clause WASHINGTON-0P)-The Sen- ate passed Thursday a bill ratify ing a California-Oregon-Washington tri-state fisheries compact and the creation of a Pacific Ma rine Fisheries Commission. The House-passed measure was amended by striking out a re quirement the US Fish and Wild life Service be consulted on fish eries research projects undertaken by the commission. Senator Magnuson (D-Wash) said the requirement was not in the compact as approved by the three state legislatures after years of negotiation and that it would be necessary for each state legis-i lature to reconsider the measure if the requirement is contained in the federal authorization.
