case. Portland officials were ad
vised from Washington Friday.
In denying Matson's ' motion,
filed May 6, for permission to start

circumstances sufficient to re
quire the emergency relief re
quested." Matson had contended that the
Northwest-Hawaii traffic was suf
ficient to warrant immediate
scheduled air service. The steam

Wayne Morse and by the Portland
Chamber of Commerce.

The bodies of Vernon C. Coulter
and. Mrs. W. V. Coulter of Port
land, Ore., missing in Coulter's
private . airplane since Oct. 30,
1946, were located on Lassen
Peak near Red Bluff, Cal., during
the flight, Army aircraft returning
to this base, reported Friday.
Couller, age 34, has been miss
ing about-eight months since tak
ing off on an ' ill-fated south
ward flight with his mother.
His wrecked plane was found
on a lonely spur of Lassen Peak
by Army pilot First Lt. A. F.
Alagna of Hamilton Field ' who
was on a flight from Red Bluff to
Klamath Falls, Ore.

Survivors include her widower,
and one sister, Mrs. Anna Bilder-
back, in addition to numerous
cousins .nieces and nephews. Time
of the funeral is pending arrival
of relatives from California,, but
interment' will be in the family
plot at the old IOOF Cemetery,
