FAMILY REPORTS TWO WEDDINGS OAKRIDGE Two weddings in the family occurring within a week was the experience of the R. W. Scruby family, recent ly. William Scruby, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Scruby, was married to Miss Doris Skews at the Presbyterian church in Seat tle. They will live in Seattle, where he is employed with the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company. Mr. and Mrs. Scruby went north for the wedding. Another son, Charles, was married to Miss Shirley Ander son at Maryvill. . Mo., where they "' live while he attends the State Teachers College. I ALPHA PHI SORORITY TO HOLD CEREMONIES ON TWO CAMPUSES ' lpha Phis from Washington, Montana, Idaho and British Co lumbia will join with Oregon members of the sorority in the installation of Beta Upsilon chapter at Oregon State College, next week-end. Saturday afternoon, May 17, forty candidi tes will be initiated at the Eugene chapter house, 1050 Hilyard Street. Members of the chapter, Tau, will conduct the ceremony, as sisted by Mrs. William Hutchin son of Seattle, international vice president and Mrs. Harold Woods of Missoula, Mont., gov ernor of the Northwest district. A formal banquet honoring the new initiates will follow the ceremony at the Eugene Ho tel at six o'clock, i rs. E. B. Mc Naughton, of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education and alumna of the University of California chapter of Alphi Phi, will be present. Sunday evening, Eugene alumnae and their husbands will go to Corvallis to attend the for mal reception for the new chap ter in the Memorial Union on the Oregon State campus. Gillilan, 2069 Olive Street, phone 9062. - ELDERLY WOMAN HONORED AT DINNERS Mrs. Dora Pillard, who former ly lived in Nebraska, but for the past five and half years has made her home with her daugh ter, Mrs. C. C. Nesmith, 780 Howard Avenue, celebrated her eighty-fifth birthday recently. Two dinners were given in her 1 honor, , one by Mrs. Nesmith, with fourteen - relatives and friends present, and the other, by her grand-daughter, Mrs. Russell Rozar, with eight at tending. WOMEN'S LEGION POST TO NAME OFFICERS Willamette Women's Legion Post will hold election of offi cers at the regular business meeting, Tuesday evening at the armory. Mrs. Charles Edwards will serve as toastmistress. EUGENE COUNCIL SETS ANNUAL DATE Executice Board of the Eugene Council of Church Women met at the Community Center re cently with Mrs.'C. A. Horton in. charge. Mrs. Palmer Walls was named general chairman of the migrant committee. The fol lowing articles are needed: toys, games, children's books, color books, crayons, pictures or magazines for scrapbooks. There also is a need for funds. The annual May meeting will be held May 16 for election of officers and a luncheon.
