H. Mitzelfelt is the director. The orchestra is on a tour of Wash ington and Oregon. Walla Walla College is a Seventh-day Adventist state ac credited college. Several alumni live in Eugene. . A social committee will enter tain the musicians in the new dining room of the auditorium, which adjoins the Warren School. The concert is open to the publie without charge, but an offering will be taken. Bethlehem Shrine To Install Officers " Bethelehem Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem, will hold open installation of officers at the Masonic Temple, Thursday evening at nine o'clock, after the regular meeting of the order. Following the Installation a reception, honoring the officers of 1946-47 will be held. Officers and queen attendants tor 1947 are to meet at the Temple Sun day afternoon at two o'clot for rehearsal. Dr A. R. Moore will talk on "Glimpses of Brazil" which will be illustrated with colored slides and movies. Dr. Moore is research profes sor of general physiology, at the University of Oregon. The mov ies and slides were taken when he was visiting professor to the Biophysical Institute of the Medical School in the University of Brazil at Rio de Janeiro. There will be a field trip Sun day afternoon, April 27, provided it does not rain. Dr. Warren D. Smith, head of the Department of Geology and Geography will lead the trip, which will be to fossil beds near Goshen and to Meridian Dam site. The ffrniin will afternoon at one-forty-five o'clock at Condon Hall and will leave promptly at two o'clock. Pre-arranged transportation U advisable. The public is Invited to par ticipate in any Natural History Society activities. Son's Wedding Held On Anniversary McKENZIE BRIDGE A re cent wedding was that of Miss Mary Jane Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Baker, to Jules M. Toliver, son of Capt. and Mrs. E. R. Toliver, all of MoKenzie Bridge. The ceremony was solemnized at the home of the bridegroom's parents, Capt. and Mrs. E. R. Toliver. It was also their wed- ding anniversary. The bride wore a white fish tail suit and . carried red rose buds. She was given in marriage by her father. Attending her was her sister, Mrs. Bettye Link. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held. Refreshments were served by " Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Toliver and . Mrs. Link. The young couple it living at McKenzie Bridge. PROGRAM LED BY MRS. WRIGHT Women's League of Congrega tional Church met recently at the church, and a missionary program was given by Mrs. Leavitt Wright. Main subject was the unification of the Presbyterian, Congrega tional, Methodist and Anglican ' churches in India, under the name "Church of South India." Vocal numbers were given by Mrs. Louis J. Murdock with Mrs. P. H. Lehman accompanying. Tea was served by Mrs. Austin Dodds, Mrs. Hawley F. Halverson and Miss M. Ethel Taylor. Notification Made Of Vocal Contest Notification has gone out to all city high schools of the forth coming vocal music competition between senior students chosen to represent each school, for the Maud Densmore Music Scholar ship offered annually by the Eugene Women's Choral Club. The award is one year's tuition in vocal music at the University of Oregon. The scholarship committee of the women's chorus is comprised of Mrs. J. M. Gravenstein, Mrs. Louis J. Murdock and Miss Marie Mitchell. Each school will choose one senior student as its representa tive, reporting to the committee. On a date to be set by Dean Theodore Kratt of the School of Music, a competition will be held between them, before competent judges, to determine which shall receive the scholarship. The win ner will be announced at the annual spring concert by the chorus, April 29. MISS RANSOM HONORED AT BRIDAL SHOWEJR Mrs. Fred Koken was hostesi for a bridal shower Saturday in honor of Miss Delcie Ransom, bride-elect of Thomas Theodore Butler. The hostess presented Miss Ransom with a corsage of hyacinths and rosebuds from which hung many colored rib bons. Attached to the ribbons were verses instructing her where to find the numerous gifts. Women will be included in the social functions of 'the evening, a din ner and dance, and they also are invited to a bridge luncheon at the Eugene Hotel. The wives' entertainment is included in the registration fees paid by the physicians, states Mrs. Slocum. M. Porterfield, and Miss Gladys Chase. WOMEN'S RELIEF CORPS GIVES MONTH'S REPORT J. W. Geary Women's Relief Corps met at the Armory Thurs day afternoon. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Pheobe Flynn. Roll call found all officers in their chairs. Following the opening cere mony, balloting and initiation was held for Mrs. T. E. Keeler. The relief committee reported one-hundred-thirty-four calls. This included the calls on Civil War widows. Seventy cards were sent to sick and shut-ins, four teen bouquets and twenty hours of work for needy persons was reported. Mrs. Ray C. Brown, den moth er of Den Four and five mem bers of Pack 351 were admitted. Mrs. Bertha We3trope, patriotic instructor, of the. corps, presented , them with an American Flag, ' using the speech with which Washington accepted the first American Flag. . SUNDAY EVENTS PUT OFF TO FALL Y-Pongos, young business women affiliated with the YWCA at a short business meeting fol lowing an "indoor picnic" this week, voted to cancel its Sun day afternoon "open house" at the Community Center until next fall. Tentative plans were tnede for members to spend a week end at the coast in June. BEARDS RETURN FROM SOUTH Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Beard have just returned from a trip of several months 'in southern California. They made their home at Pasadena and from there visited Palm Springs and Los Angeles, stopping on the re turn trip to visit relatives in San Francisco and Sacramento. CLUB MEETS Westway Club met recently with Mrs. George Bauer for a. one o'clock luncheon which was followed by cards. Eleven were present. Mrs. Harry Wheeler and Mrs. Etta Teal received hon ors. The next meeting of the group will be with Mrs. Teal May 1.
