Delbert Willson was best man. Reception Later A reception was held Sunday afternoon at the home of the bridegroom's parents for about , thirty guests. Mrs. Robert Kena dy and Mrs. Les Corey served the wedding cake. The bride was graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1843, and since then has been office secretary at the Jefferson school. Mrv Lambert is a mem ber of the U. S. Maritime Service. The couple went to Boise, Idaho, on a short wedding trip. Mr. Lambert will go to sea, and Mrs. Lambert will remain with her parents until his discharge. VOTERS' GROUP TO MEET, STUDY TAX QUESTIONS League of Women Voters Study Group will meet Tuesday evening at seven-thirty o'clock at the home of Mrs. V. N. Free man. Some phase of equalization of school taxes will be discussed. Moon poured at tea, and Mrs. Leslie Lowrey gave a demonstration of flower ar rangement. 2A?'S MGHT PROGRAM HELD BY LINCOLN P-TA Dad's Night was held by the Lincoln School P-TA Wednesday night, with Clifford TraviUion acting as president; Harold Plum as secretary; Eugene Walker, treasurer, and E. H. Christian son, program chairman. Several Irish songs were sung py the group, with Mrs. Travil lion at the piano and Mr. Plum leading. Mr. Plum also sang two solos. Judy Schweppe gave an exhibition of baton-twirling, and JoAnn Frostram and Lorraine Jolson did tap dances. David Doty gave a dance of JJalr Styles that Sivity of Spring... . . RIVER ROAD WOMEN PLAN TO MAKE RUGS River Road Women's Club will hold its regular all-day meeting Wednesday with a pot luck luncheon at noon. In the momtner RAwtnff an1 mending will be done for the Red Cross. Omitting an after noon business meeting, the club will spend the remainder of the day socially and in making rugs for the clubhouse. AH members are asked to bring cotton and wool materials for the rag rugs. Women of the community are invited to attend. ALASKAN LITE TO BE DESCRIBED Mrs. Bruce Anawalt will tell of her experiences in Alaska at t meeting of the College Crest Neighborhood Club Wednesday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock. It will be a dessert luncheon at the home of Mrs. A. T. Schaffer, with Mrs. George Wills assisting. Mrs. Rod Hornbeck will show some Alaskan curios. Roll call will be answered with springtime items. WHITE AKER P-TA MEETS AT SCHOOL Whiteaker P-TA recently held a business meeting and program at the school. The school orches tra, conducted by Miss Winni - f red Young, played several selections, and dances were given by the first grade. Three songs were played on the tanettes by a group of fifth . grade students, and another group of students danced a min uet. A film, "Battle of the Cen turies," was shown. After the business meeting refreshments were served by Mrs. Arthur Brown and her committee, with the St. Patrick's Day theme used for decorations. ' Mrs. Verne Nesbitt was . in charge ot decorations. ' Mrs. Frank Serotek was pre sented with a gift in appreciation of her work as hot lunch chair man. She recently resigned and moved to the Bethel district. Women's Alliance of Unitarian Church will have a potluck luncheon Tuesday afternoon at twelve-thirty o'clock at the home ot Mrs. Ralph C. Crow, 2850 Willamette Street. Guest will be Miss Henrietta Eliot, of Portland, who is direct or of all Unitarian Alliances in Oregon. The degree staff of the Eugene Rebekah Lodge will hold a practice Monday evening et eight o'clock at the I.O.OJ. Hall. MRS. UNDERWOOD HOSTESS TO GROUP Mrs. W. C. Underwood was hostess at luncheon Wednesday noon at the Osbum Hotel to members of the convention committee of the Eugene Busi ness and Professional Women's Club. The committee will make arrangements for the participa tion of the local club in the state convention program at Portland, May 17, IB and 19. The same group also will have charge of the May 9 luncheon, when con- -ventlon pep talks and singing of convention songs will be the program. Mrs. Clarence Elkins has been named by Mrs. Underwood to arrange tor transportation ot members to the convention; Mrs. Merle Chase will be in charge ot credentials, and Mrs. Victor Bailey will be in charge of res ervations. Others of the commit tee are Mrs. J. Prosser Stewart, Mrs. Kenneth Rude, Mrs. Lura Wilcox and Mrs. NeU K. Howard. BILLY BROWN HOST AT BIRTHDAY DINNER His eleventh birthday was celebrated by Billy Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eyler Brown, Thursday evening, when he played host to nine boyi at six o'clock dinner at the Brown home. The table was decorated for St. Patrick's Day in white and green; shamrocks scattered over the table, shamrocks mark ing places, and green-ribboned favors in a bowl centerpiece, the ribbons reaching to each place. The dinner was planned after a menu chosen by the host, fea turing hamburgers and salad. The birthday cake also was in green and white. After dinner movies were shown for the boys by Mr. Brown, and games were played. Religious Reading Group ot First Congregational Church will meet Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of. Mrs. J. H. Beck. MRS. HARKIN8 HOSTESS TO IOTA SIGMA GROUP Beta Chapter of Iota Sigma met at the home ot Mrs. Delbert Harkins recently tor the monthly business session. Mrs. Alice Jerke was ap pointed devotional chairman; Mrs. Irene Thomas, chairman of ways and means; Mrs. Neita Gray, chairman of flowers and cards; Mrs. Bernice Rhinesburg, temporary legislative chairman. . Severay projects were planned tor the coming year. Mrs. Delia Johnston, ot Cor vallis, was in charge ot devo tions, and spoke on "A Few ot God's Promises to His Children." Following the meeting, the hostess served refreshments. There were five visitors present, Graduate Regents of Women of the Moose will meet Monday evening at the home of Mrs. John Parsons, 2162 Washington Street, for a potluck supper an9 business session. Friday evening at eight o'clock, a chapter meeting of the order will be held at the Moose Hall, with the graduate regents in charge of the program and the offices. Mrs. Joe Bartlett will act as senior regent, and Mrs. William Stansfield will be it) charge of the program. Ninetyeight Inner Circle of the auxiliary to the United Spanish War Veterans will meet Monday afternoon at two o'clock with Mrs. Frank Bauer, 127 Bauer Lane. Members will sew for the veteran's hospital. Loyal Friends Class ot First Christian Church will meet Monday evening at six-thirty o'clock at the church for a pot luck dinner. Entertainment has been arranged for the evening, and all members ot the class are asked to be present. Imo Ruyle Missionary Circle of First Baptist Church will meet Tuesday evening at seven-forty-five o'clock in the church parlors.
