Two Killed In Third Washington Wreck OLYMPIA, Sept. 21 M) Wes tern Washington's third train wreck within 48 hours yesterfiay claimed the lives of two train men, C. V. Swanson, Tacoma, fire man, and Donald L. Sweeney, Centralia, brakeman. Seven others were Injured as two Northern Pacific freight trains collided about 15 miles south of here. First of the trio of wrecks oc curred Monday night at Castle Rock when a Great Northern freight sldeswiped a . Northern Pacific freight pulling out of a siding. One man was killed and three Injured. Tuesday morning Gov. Thomas E. Dewey's presidential campaign train crashed Into the rear of another train which had stopped at the scene of the Castle Rock wreck. Fifty were injured. Serio"-ly injured in yesterday's wreck were Heine Orton, Tacoma, enginter; Barnie Schwepter, Ta coma, conductor, and J. A. Mc Millan, Tacoma, brakeman. Others hurt were Fred Relter, engineer, Archie Rhea, fireman, Joe Wallace, conductor, Merna L. Warner, all of Tacoma. C. W.-Hall. She was born Louise Krichner, February 23, 1867 in Germany, and came to America at the ace of six vears. She married J. N. Randle in jubo in Wlnnenucca. Nevada, coming to Eugene in 1892. Mr. Randle died in 1916. Since then (he has made her home with her son Edward at 1432 Orchard. Survivors are eight children: James L. of Eugene; W. A. of Monroe, Washington; Edward O. of Eugene: Frank R. of Vallejo; Mrs. A. G. Heaton of Eugene; Mrs. Howard Piatt of Eugene: Mrs, M. G. Porter of 'Salem; Mrs. Alice Tengs of Vallejo; fif teen grandchildren and five great grandchildren: three ototners ana one sister are, in Nevsda. Funeral services will be held from the Veatch-Hol- lingsworth chapel, Saturday, September 23 at 10:30 a. m. In terment will be in the Laurel Hill cemeterv BABBITT Roger Alan Babbitt died at Oakland, Calif., Monday, September 18. He was born In Wessington. S. Dakota, Novem ber 19, 1926 and came to Ore gon in 1934, living in Eugene and Portland before moving to Reedsport in 1936. He attended Springfield high school the last of his junior year. He was a member of the Reedsport grad uating class of 1944. and moved to Oakltuid six months ago. Sur vivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Babbitt: a sister. Vera Jane all of Oakland: a brother, Boyd A. in the U. S. navy. Funeral services wiU be held from the Phil Bartholomew chapel. Friday at 2 p. m. Rev.
