Bean picking started this past
week at the Hawkins patch north
east of Shedd. Several local peo
ple are working there.

lambs to market last week. Pas
tures early in the summer were
better than they were last year
but are now showing the effects
of dry weather. Gardens in this
vicinity, excepting those which
have been watered, are seriously
damaged by lack of rainfall.
