On March 28
If a finished movie turns out
to be 75 per cent as good as he
originally dreamed it would be,
then a director has a box-office
success.
That's the Alfred Hitchcock
philosophy on picture-making,
and it cannot be denied that he
has made many successful pic
tures. Among them have been
"The Thirty-Nine Steps," "The
Lady Vanishes," "Rebecca,"
"Foreign Correspondent," "Mr.
and Mrs. Smith," "Suspicion"
and "Saboteur."
He has recently completed
what his admirers claim is the
best film of his career. It is
"Shadow of a Doubt," coming
March 28 to the Heilig theater.
For his cast he chose such thor
ough stage players as Teresa
Wright, Joseph Cotten, Macdon
ald Carey, Patricia Collinge,
Henry, Travers, Wallace Ford
and others.
