Enrollment has been open to any man in industry, for the 12-week course, and classes are being held each Monday and Thursday evening at the Physical Education building at 7:30. Prof. Evenden said yesterday that interest in the project has been so extended that another class may be started shortly to take care of additional men. Closses are ordi narily limited to 25. Springfield Plywood company has expressed desire to have a dozen or more of their key men take the course, if another class is started, and Prof. Evenden has asked that other mills interested should send in ap plications to the Willamette Valley Lumbermen's office in Eugene. Basic training in safety engineer" ing is taught the men, Evenden pointed out, and the course is de signed to encourage safety prac tices in all industrial plants to re duce the number of accidents arising from carelessness. Applica tion of sound safety principles is also taught. Cclan Drops Fight Nod To Ex-Champ CHICAGO. May 21.
