(Special) Thaddius Carl Mason died Thursday evening at the home of his son, Herbert Mason, 40 Willamette court. Mr. Mason had made his home with his son since October, 1940. Previously, he lived for 25 years at Salem and Corvallis. He was born in Salem, Iowa, in March, 1861. Surviving are two. sons, Her bert Mason of this city and Ed ward Mason of Long Beach, Wash.: nine grandchildren: three great grandchildren; four broth ers and two sisters. Mr. Mason was a member of the Friends church et Salem, Ore., and of the I.O.O.F, and Rebekah lodges in Corvallis. Funeral services will be an nounced later from Smith chapel. 4-H CLUBS MEET BELLFOUNTAIN, Aug. 8. (Special) The Four-H Canning club met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mary Lou Nystrom for their regular meeting, with judging the main theme. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Nystrom. The Four-H Canning club mem bers enjoyed a swimming party and picnic supper at the Benton Lane park on Wednesday after noon, accompanied by their leader, Mrs. George Buckingham, and Mrs. F. A. Lakey, 66, Dies At Drain David Loranzo Lakey, 66, well known resident of Drain, died at his home Wednesday night, after a short illness. He was born in Weston, Ore., July 20, 1875. He married Ruth Kitselman, at Council, Ida., Jan uary 10, 1910. For the past 23 years he had been a resident of the Drain vicinity, where he was engaged in farming. He is survived by his widow, two adughters, and three sons, Mrs. Margaret L. Rossiter, Spring field, Ore.; Mrs. Venus C. Davis, Drain; Eugene H. Lakey, Paul D. Lakey and Lewis F. Lakey, Drain; five brothers and a sister, John W. Lakey, Boise, Ida.; Lewis K. Lakey, Council, Ida.; Charles C. Lakey, Salem, Ore.; Jacob L. Lakey, Myrtle Point, Ore.; An drew J. Lakey, Riggins, Ida., and Mrs. Liddy I. Lindsey, Bend, Ore. Funeral services will be held in the Drain Christian church, Sat urday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. F. Trimble officiating.
