Sawyer, president of Sigloh Sawyer Co., Eugene Dodge-Plymouth dealer who met Tuesday morning with Dodge and Plymouth factory representatives from Se attle. Attending the meeting were all Plymouth dealers from the Eu gene territory. Eugene and Oregon Dodge Job Rated truck sales for June show an increase of ill per cent com pared with the 1941 average to untc, aawyer reports, 'mis is well above the national average and in dicates the anticipated prosperity and consequent Increased demand for trucks due largely to defense requirements, the exceptionally heavy crop yield and assurance of high stabilized prices tor agricul tural products in this area, ac cording to Sawyer. While the increase in truck units sold is phenomenal It is still far below the gain in dollar volume, observes this dealer. This is due, he declares, to the increasing de mand for larger trucks, one and one-halt ton and up, needed on farms, in the logging camps and mining areas. Coincident with the increase in new truck sales is the Sawyer report that used trucks are fast becoming no problem, the de mand for used units, particularly the larger ones, oftimes exceed ing the supply, "Now is the time to buy trucks " states Sawyer. "It is our belief that present prices cannot last Our experience in the last world warj leads us to believe that prices are likely to advance beyond present levels.
