a group of oil shares went Into new
1941 hfffhs and many other leading Is

553.000 shares changed hands.
Operations centered largely on the
petroleum shares because of the earn

of eastern seaboard gasoline shortages
with attendant price Increases, already
being reflected In crude and refined
markets.
Reaching new top quotations for the
year were Consolidated OU. Ohio OH,
Standard Oil of Ohio and Mid-Continent

Other Issues on the upgrade were Sav

American Can, Dow Chemical, United

Chrysler, Mack Truck, Phelps Dodge.
Reynolds Metal and American Tele

The last named rose more than a
point at one time as directors announc

largely to be used for expansion.
