DELBEBT JAMES INSTALLATION ceremonies are featured this month In both local chapters of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Delbert James, at left above, Is the new worthy matron for Evangeline chap ter, and Mrs. Dan Stewart Is the incoming worthy matron for Blue River chapter. Evangeline chap ter installed the past Friday evening. Blue River will install next Friday evening. Pro America's National President Coming Friday yiSITING Eugene for a few hours next Friday will be Mrs. A. C. Mattei of San Fran cisco, national president of Pro America organization for re publican women. A luncheon in her honor will be given by the Lane county chapter of Pro America at twelve-thirty o'clock Friday at the Eugene hotel. Mrs. Mattei is coming from San Francisco especially to visit the local chapter, rated as one of the most outstanding ones in the country. "The New Year Po litically: Responsibilities and Opportunities" will be Mrs. Mrs. Mattel's topic for the local talk. She recently returned from a national board meeting in St. Louis. During her two years as national president, Mrs. Mattei has done consider able work in organization for Pro America, extending chapter to the east coast. Also, during her administration, all the liv ing wives of republican ex presidents have been enrolled as members of Pro America, including Mrs. Benjamin Har rison, Mrs. Theodore Roose velt, Mrs. William Howard Taft, Mrs. Calvin Coolidge, Mrs. Herbert Hoover. Others Invited Invitation is being extended by the Lane county Pro Amer ica chapter to chapters at Leb anon, Corvallis, and' other neighboring cities to attend as well as the Pro America mem bers in Springfield, Florence, Cottage Grove, and other sec tions of this county. Episcopalians List Meetings . The annual meeting for St. Mary's guild of St. Mary's Episcopal church will be held Wednesday. This is to be the firs- regular all-day meeting foi the guild since the holiday recess. Officers will be elected. Quilting, sewing, and other work will be done. At the luncheon at noon, Mrs. S. L. Lowry and Mrs. M. H. Gisborne will be in charge. In the evening, the monthly parish pot luck dinner for the church will be held at six o'clock, with Mrs. E. E. Har tung, Mrs. A. F. Sether and Miss Helen Wilson in charge. Following the supper, the an nual meeting of the church will be held with reports given and vestrymen elected. They wore floor length frocks of rusty pink dotted Swiss organ dy with full skirts and ruffle trim. Each carried a nosegay of violets and pink and white rcses. Aldrich Loutocky of McCord field, Washington, uncle of the bridegroom, was best man. A reception was held imme diately following the ceremony. The bride's table was decorated witli a centerpiece of Calla lilies and lighted tapers. Pouring was Mrs. Thomas L. Ohlsen, sister of the bride. Miss Margaret Ircta Cooley of Eugene cut the cake, and serv ing were Miss Alice Laura Hewitt, sister of the bride, from Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Howard Ragan and Miss Rosalie Kokel of Portland. Live In Longview For going away the bride wore a costume suit of regency blue wool with fox fur trim and California tan accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of orchids. Following a short trip to Mt. Hood, the couple will be at home at 1817 Beech street, Longview, Wash. The bride attended the Uni versity of Oregon and while in Eugene was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. Mr. Tlchy graduated from the university law school last June. He is practicing now in Longview. He is a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. Luncheon of Club To Be Thursday ONE of the larger club gath erings tor this week will be the monthly luncheon of the Eugene Business and Profes sional Women's club Thursday noon. The luncheon will be in the Seymour cafe banquet room. Speaker for the program will be William M. Tugman of the Register-Guard who is to pre sent a review of the past year's news and its significance. The executive group of the club is meeting Wednesday noon. MISS GERALDINE Chase, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Chase, left this week to enter nurses' training in Multnomah county hospital, Portland. Miss Chase has been attending the University of Oregon for two years, taking nurses training preparatory work. Honoring Miss Chase, Miss Barbara Harmon entertained Monday evening with a fare well party. Games were played and gifts presented the honor guest. Those attending were Miss Geraldine Chase, Mrs. Harry L.
