WWW C. P. UNION Members of the women s union of Central Presbyterian church met Tuesday at the church for a luncheon and meeting, with about eighty-five present. East division served the luncheon. The West minster Players, directed by Mrs. J. D. Bryant, presented a play. Those taking part were Miss Kay Dougherty, Miss Erma Scott and Vincent Yardham. Mrs. Slgvald Skavlan had charge of the pro gram. Mrs. Timotny cioran, as sisted by Mrs. Katnryn Hacicer and Mrs. Reed, led devotions. Mrs. A. E. Caswell presided at the busi ness meeting. Central division will serve the luncheon at the Decem ber 10 meeting. MISSIONARY GROUP A discussion, of refugees was held at the meeting of the Wo men's Missionary society of the First Christian church Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. K. E. Burke had charge of the program. Mrs. Josie Champie led devotions;, Miss Dora Ellen Cash read a poem; and Mrs. Walter Fiseua and Mrs. Oak ley Rhay gave talks. Misses Enid Linn, Eileen Rahn and Wilms Sar gent sang. Group four had the fel lowship hour. A James MeCallum "love gift" tea will be held at the December 10 meeting. Mrs. rise us will have the program and Mrs. L. E. George, the devotions. Plans were also discussed for the annual women's day program December 1. PLAN BAZAAR December 7 haa been set aa the date of the bazaar at the meeting of the Ladies' Aid of the United Lutheran church Tuesday after noon with Mrs. L. H. Jessen. Mrs. Neil Freeman, chairman, will be assisted by Mrs. Frank S. Beistel and Mrs. Elmer Harris. The next meeting will be December 3 -with Mrs. Beistel, with Mrs. J. B. An derson assisting. Christmas gifts will be exchanged. . THURSDAY EVENTS The thank offering luncheon of the Women's Missionary aoeiety of the United Lutheran church will be held Thursday at one-thirty o'clock at the church. A program will fol low. Mrs. L. Plans were made for a rummage sale, place and date for which will be announced later. Mrs. C. W. Godlove and Mrs. Bert E. Rogers are in charge. Bridge was played, honors going to Mrs. L. A. Wood, Mrs. Rogers, and Mrs. L. L. Baker. Mrs. A. C. Stockstad and Mrs. Elizabeth Flks- dal were hostesses for the meet ing. - The Zeta Tau Alpha Mothers' club met at the home of Mrs. Her bert Smeed. The- group announced rummage sale for December 7 at the Chambers building with Mrs. E. D. Like, Mrs. Glenn Hos- ford, Mrs. J. M. The first meerlng will be Tuesday, No vember 19. with Mrs. C. E. W1V liamson. Mrs. Cecil Deal- will be the leader. The time will be spent working on scrapbooks for the Roseburg Veterans' hospital. The sewing club of the Ameri can Legion auxiliary will meet Tuesday at two o'clock with Mrs. A. A. Stewart. The Willamette council meeting will be Sunday. November 17, at twelve-thirty o'clock at Albany. This will start with a-dinner for Legion and aux iliary members. The Eugene aux iliary will give a paper on Brazil. The auxiliary this year, as in sev eral years past, will solicit money from local merchants for Christmas tree decorations for the chamber of commerce. Mrs. Spencer Col lins is chairman for the work. The Eugene unit will visit the Roseburg Veterans' hospital December 6. Eighteen were present. Miss Ann Brenner reported on the Hallo ween party. The evening was spent working on the club's em blems. Names were drawn for the Christmas party, which will be December 10 with Mrt. Robert H. Lemon. ROYAL NEIGHBORS Royal Neighbors of America will hold a turkey dinner November 26, it was decided at the meeting Tuesday evening. The camp will provide the turkey, coffee and hot rolls, and members are to take salad and dessert or a hot dish Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, chairman, will be assisted by Mrs. Charles Smith, Mrs. Elma Rowling, Mrs, Nattie Hoppe, Mrs. Dora Hicks, Mrs. Maude Davis, Mrs. Delia Davis, Mrs. Bertha McHenry.
