Bartel assist ing hostess. Mrs. Goheen also presided at the business meeting. Mrs. S. G. Gregor conducted the devotions. Mrs. C. A. Hughett of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Hattie Gros hong, Mrs. Wilbur Scott and Mrs. A. A. Emmons were guests. Birth days observed at serving time were those of Mrs. A. W. Schwer ing and Mrs. Clara Noland. Others at the birthday table were Mrs. Ethel Treanor, Mrs. Alice Taylor and Mrs. Hughett. Plans were made to hold the next meeting May 1 with Mrs C. F. Crawford in the Irving district. A potluck luncheon will be served followed by the buiness meeting. Mrs, Ed Anderson was appointed on the transportation committee. Each one making the trip will contrib ute. Mrs. Floyd E. Schwering. For the program the toy orchestra of the school gave two numbers under the di rection of Miss Alleyne Spencer. Mrs. Dorris read an article on "The Plea for Peace." Refresh ments were served to 23. Methodist Aid Meets Mrs. A. L. McClure, Mrs. Walt er Bragg and Mrs. Blanche Gwyther were hostesses at the regular meeting of the General Aid Society of the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at the church annex. The time was sent in quilting and in sewing on bazaar articles. Mrs. Jennie Mar quart was a guest. Twenty-three members were present. Special birthday members were Mrs. Lou ise Land Mrs. C. L. Ellis and Mrs. M. C. Redding. Corsages were at each plate. Hostesses for the May meeting are Mrs. Bert Thompson, Mrs. W. A. Henderson, Mrs. H. N. Traxler and Mrs. J. M. Walkup. Mrs Alice Taylor has left for Twin Falls, Ida., where she will Join relatives on a trip to Wiscon sin, where she will visit at her former home and with her daugh ters, Mrs. Gus Eggert and Mrs. Ray Hennes and their families. Her son H. W. Taylor and wife took her to Twin Falls where they will visit over the week end. Henry Kirtley of Portland Is visiting with his sister Mrs. B. F. Martin. Band And Glee Clubs Appear In Concert OAKRIDGE, April 20. (Spe cial) The Oakridge high school band and glee clubs presented their spring concert in the school auditorium recently. The program included: Three numbers by the band; six numbers by the Junior high chorus; five selections by the boys' glee club; two violin solos, Bessie Stevens; two songs, boys' quartet; two numbers, violin en semble; five selections by the girls' Rlee club; three numbers by the mixed chorus; four selections by the band.. Miss Esther Beal is glee club director and Miss Esythe Farr is director of instrumental music. The band members include: First cornets, James Hill, Forrest Rehwalt, Earl Blelle and Daryl Moblcy; second cornets, Janet Lee Ramsdell and Loren Wilson; third cornets, Harvey McFarland, Neil Dless and Ira McAtee; trombones, Ned LeGault and John Luckey; clarinets, Tharon Rogers, Harry Bleile, Chester Wilson and Jack Edwards; saxophones, Evelyn Mc Gillvrey, Harold La Duke, Marian Swanson and Harry Winkleman; drums, Ralph Lyons and Martin Tucker. April 20 (Special) The school board of the Stafford school district No, 11, has rehired Mrs. May Scott to teach at the Stafford school the coming year. Mrs. Bessie Terpening, mother of Raymond Hill, is rapidly Im proving at the Hill home from a broken ankle. (Spe cial) Mrs. Olive Barber of Marshfield will speak at the Parent-Teachers' association meeting Tuesday evening, April 23. The business meeting will be held from 7:30 to 8, after which Mrs. Barber will speak. She will ar rive at noon, Tuesday, and will give bird talks at both the high school and the grade school In the afternoon. LEABURG, April 20 (Special) A special executive board meet. ing of the Leaburg Community Sunday school was held at the home of Mrs. Milo Smith, superln tendent, last week. As there was not a full attendance of the board some matters could not be defi nitely decided until a later date, The teachers and classes were out lined and the matter of a summer camp under religious leadership is being considered. All of the members and friends of the home extension service meetings that are being held should bear in mind the spring festival that is to be held at the Four-H building at the fairgrounds on Friday, April 28. A planned potluck luncheon is to be served at noon and it is requested that each person provide her own table service. An exhibit and part of the program is to be planned by each unit represented. Bridge Club Meets MARCOLA, April 20 (Special) The Thursday bridge club met at the home of Mrs. Christina Pet erson. Mrs. A. E. Rummell and Mrs. Mary Hill were guests.
