THE REGISTER-GUARTJ, EUGENE, OREGON RING." with Ronald Reaean. In the BALCONY With WAYNE HARBERT REMEMBER? McDonald: Did you go to sec "It Happened One NiKlit" twice'.' Did you laugh at 'The Awful Truth" and "You Can't Take It With You?" Did "The Thin Man" thrill you? "Re member?" can compare to any of these laugh pictures. Finally, there comes this show which is just as good as any of them. Even tlie most hesitant sourpuss would have to label it "qolossal." There's an excellent cast, head ed by Robert Taylor, Lew Ayres, Greer Garson and Billic Burke. Tile story is certainly among the most unusual, and the finale will sweep you up the aisles with laughter. If you see all your friends giggling around Seymour's during the next few days, you rea lize they've probably been to this cinema. The story concerns two young men who have been "best pals" for some 20 years. One becomes engaged, to have the other charm the bride-to-be into falling for him and his "rainbow eyes." Midway through the story, the chap who loses his best gal to his pal dopes the three of lliein with a new drug which is supposed to cancel memories. The results are astounding. To tell would be to ruin the laughs. Hut a few conic when the fellows flip a nickel for the girl and when one of them marries her to keep from getting a ticket for speeding. One of the funniest situations occurs lien a hand of fox hunt ers conic upon the docs, milling about trying to pick up the ani mal's trail. "What's the mat ter?'' one of the society ladles (Billic Burke) asks. "Oh. they've lost the scent." a friend ex plains. Hut it's too late. The lady Is snifllni; away to try to help the hounds. "It's that way," she gleefully points. Then she hesitates, announces, "I'm wrong, it must he something else." Another comes when Hie same woman arranges a surprise party for her honeymooning daughter and son-in-law. She tells all the guests to hide about the rooms be hind the furniture and not to shout "surprise" until she rings licr lit tle bell. The newlywcris appear, take their position in the center of the room and continue a bitter, quarrel in which the bride's rela tives get their share of knocking. As tile hostess scampers about looking for her misplaced bell, the quarrel rages for sonic minutes before the guests get the signal to pop out into the open. Most remarkable scene, how ever, is the very last, an expres sion on Lew A res' face. Don't miss "Remember."'
