The cut will apply for the city in street lights, and will amount to a reduction of approximately $331.98. The cut will go into effect November 1 if it is approved by the public utilities company. The reduction was announced for the first of January, but a subsequent letter from C. A. Sipes, manager of the Willamette di vision for the company, announced that the date would be in Novem ber. Mr. and Mrs. John Orr, of Woodburn visited recently here with the Koenigs. University Men Listed For Programs Dr. Warren D. Smith, pro fessor of geology at the Univer sity of Oregon, and Lloyd Ruff, instructor on the campus, will give a joint program before the Geological Society of the Ore gon Country in Portland, Friday evening. Mr. Smith will lecture on the geology of the Wallowa mountains, outlining the field work he conducted in July and August for the state department of geology and mineral industries. Mr. Russ will show his color movie films he made during the progress of the work. On Saturday Dr. Smith will appear on the program of the second annual convention of the Northwest Federation of Miner alogical Societies at the Multno mah hotel. His subject will be "The Amateur; an appreciation." On Thursday evening at 8:15, Mr. Smith will speak over KOAC from the Music building studio on the subject "Through the Pic ture Gorge to the Ancient Lair of the Oreodonts." This talk is the second in the University of Oregon natural history museum Funerals Mm. Augusta Mae Knouse SPRINGFIELD. Oct.' 13.
