Mrs. George Todd . was elected president of the group, Miss Ovida Erickson, vice-president, and Miss Wllhelmina Gerot, treasurer. The alumnae are to meet with the active members and pledges for a sunrise founders' day serv ice, Friday, a breakfast to follow. Hawn of San Francisco, formerly of Roseburg, was solemnized in Eugene Monday evening at the Central Presbyterian church par sonage. Dr. Norman K. Tully of ficiating. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fredrickson of Roseburg, brother-in-law and sister of Mr. Hawn, were present from out-of-town for the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Hawn are to make their home in San Francisco. Potluck Luncheon Is Held By Group The "homecoming" meeting of the Women's Missionary society of the First Christian church was held at the church Tuesday with a potluck luncheon at noon, in charge of the James McCallum group. Mrs. Luella Bristow spoke on the first Christian church in Lane county, located at Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. W. T. Hibbard spoke on foreign mission fields. A letter from James McCallum, missionary at Nanking, China, was read by his sister, Mrs. 1 E, George. The devotions were in charge of Mrs. P. S. Brunk. Mrs, W. S. Anderson of Lincoln, Neb., spoke on "Satisfaction in Christ," and also sang a solo. The pro gram was arranged by the Ger trude Shoemaker group. River Road's Scouts Plan Supper RIVER ROAD, Oct. 13. (Spe cial) The Girl Scouts and Brown ies of this district are sponsoring a "family night," Thursday eve ning in the River Road Women's clubhouse. The supper will be at six oclock. The troop is spon sored by the River Road P.-T. A. Madrecitas Club Madrecltas club was entertained Tuesday afternoon by Mrs. Wit liam Dion. MARIE P. FLETCHER will hold open house at her apart ment at Bartle Court during Thursday and Friday afternoons for those interested. In viewing the bushels of gourds she har vested in her garden this fall. Display Attracts The fall flower show of the Garden club held Monday brought out the largest crowd in several years. Visitors were pleased at the variety of flowers in artistic arrangements. Hundreds of spec imens of shrubs and flowers were on display all being properly labeled. To Give Scholarship The club will again give a 4-H club scholarship to the winner of the home beautlfication project in Lane county. Elmo Chase, local florist, Le Roy Gettling of the University of Oregon were the speakers of the evening. The traditional plant exchange was a success and the funds will go for beautlfication work. Penwomen's Club's Meeting Held The Penwomen's club held its meeting Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Robert McCulloch, an interesting program featuring the gathering. Original writings were presented by the following: Mrs. F. W. Gilstrap, a story, Mrs. T. O. Youngs, story; Mrs. Mable Crow, ooem: Miss Helen Cherry, inter view: Mrs. R. Bogstad, story; Miss Mabel Knowlton, story; Miss Nor ma Lyons, a musical composition; Mrs. Robert McCulloch, poem. Mrs. Paul Cauthorne reported the sale of a story to the Country Gentle man. The next meeting of the club comes the second Monday of November. . Co-Workers Class The Co-Worker's class of the First Baptist church will meet on Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of Mrs. G. B. Brown, 682 Lawrence street. Mrs. Amelia Watts, who is leaving soon for Chicago, will be honored. Assist ing Mrs. Brown as hostess, will be Mrs. W. M. Marshall, Mrs. G. M. Hewitt, Mrs. H. C. Travlllion and Mrs. F. B. Fortney. AlpRa Circle The Alpha Circle of the First Baptist church met on Tuesday with a covered dish luncheon tat noon, twenty-three being in at tendance. Mrs. W. E. Derry conducted the business meeting, and Mrs. F. B. Harlow spoke on Red Cross work. A solo was given by Mrs. Brun ton and Dr. Mary Fowler Thomp son gave a missionary story. Lodge Party Ten tables of bridge were in play Tuesday evening at the benefit card party sponsored by the Pyth ian Sisters, at the Knights of Pythias hall. Prizes went to Mrs. H. C. Farley and. C. M. Miller at auction, and to Mrs. Zette Daniel at contract. The party Tuesday was the first of a series to be held by the lodge, with a grand prize to be awarded at the close. . M. E. Aid Divisions Meet Tuesday Divisions of the Women's union of the First Methodist Episcopal church met on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. W. S. Jost, 2240 Klncaid street, was hostess to Division three, with ten members and one guest, Mrs. Al May being present. The next meeting of the group will be at the home of Mrs. El mer Little, 541 Nineteenth avenue east, with a luncheon scheduled. Eleven were present at the meeting of Division seven, to which Mrs. A. A. Reld was host ess at a one o'clock luncheon, Plans were made for the Decem ber bazaar. Mrs. J. B. Ward will be division hostess In November, at her home, 740 Madison street. Division six also planned for the bazaar, eight members being In attendance. Mrs. Lena Fisher is to be hostess to the group in November, District Officer Visits Local ' Auxiliary ' ' MRS. MYRTLE RAVEN of Cor vallls, district-president of the Women's auxiliary of the American -Legion, was a guest of the Eugene auxiliary Tuesday evening at the meeting held in the Moose hall. Mrs. Anna Blakeley, also of Cor vallis, was present Plans were made for entertaining the district council of both the Legion and auxiliary next Wednesj day, October 20, at eight o'clock in the Moose hall. The auxiliary voted a five dollar donation toward the "iron lung" fund. On next Monday evening mem bers will meet at the home of Mrs. May T. Moon, 129 Broadway east for the forming of a choral group. The gathering is scheduled for eight oclock. Among the plans for the fall season, is a benefit bridge party to be given at the Moose hall on Wednesday, November 3, at eight o'clock. Aid Meets Fifty-six members of the Cen tral Presbyterian Ladles' aid met Tuesday afternoon at the chapel for the general session.
