Prices Better For
Portland Turkeys
PORTLAND, Dec. 21 VP) The
current turkey market was described
in trading circles here today as "very
good." with prices for selected birds
a trifle better.
Buyers were offering 10 cems gen
erally for toms and 18 cents for No.
1 hens but hens were quoted as high
as 10 cents. The selling price for
toms ranged around 10 to 20 cents
and 20 to 21 cents for hens, with
some selections up to 22.
A decrease of receipts and an In
crease of demand was apparent.

MONDAY'S BILLS
MoDONALD: "Polo Joe" and
"Isle of Fury".
HEILIQ: "Love In Exile" and
"The Luckiest Girl.
STATE: "Little Lord Fauntle
roy" and "Beyond Bengal".
MAYFLOWER: "Two in a
Crowd".
REX; "China Clipper" and
"Wives Never Know".
"Polo Joe" is the title of the fea
ture picture at the McDonald Mon
duy, with "Isle of Fury" ita support
ing production of the double-bill. Joe
E. Brown is the star of the "Polo"
picture, in which he becomes a rare
hand at the game played with horses
and mallets. "Isle of Fury" is all
about the south seas, with pearl div
ing, and things,
"Love in Exile", at the Heilig until
Tuesday night, is a tale which might
have had its suggestion in the recent
nbdicntion of King Edward, Cive
Brook plays the part of a king who
abdicates from his throne so he can
marry the woman be loves. Helen
Vinson is tbe woman. It's a Gaumont
Eritish production.
Freddie Bartholomew is at the
State Monday and Tuesday in "Little
Lord Fauntleroy", with Delores Cos
tcllo taking the part of litt.o lord's
mother. Also on the double bill is
"Beyond Bengal", an adventure pic
ture filmed in the deepest jungles of
Bengal by Harry Schenck, noted ex
plorer.
Joel McCrea and Joan Bennett are
at. the Mayflower until Wednesday
night in "Two in a Crowd", one of the
better pictures of the year. This gay
young pair romp through the hour and
a half picture, giving splendid per
formances. They meet v:hen each
finds half a torn thousand dollar bill.
They finally fall in love as they try
to patch the bill together and split
the proceeds. There are complications
sitch aa police, gangsters, and race
horses to Interfere, but all ends well.
"China Clipper" and "Wives Never !
Know" are the two pictures on the j
Rex bill. The former stars Pat O'- i
Brien, Hobart Bosworth, Ross Alex- '
ander, and Beverly Roberts. The lat
ter is a swell comedy with Charlie
Buggies and Mary Boland. Adolpb
Menjou adds just enough mnd-cappe-v
to their antics to make it a howling
success.
