Smith, a resident of Eugene for the past 23 years, died at his home at 1444 Patterson street early Tuesday morning. He was born "In Mlddlehurgh, Penn sylvania, on July 14, 1S50. Ho was a resident of Oklahoma before coming to Eugene. Mr. Smith leaves his widow, Mrs. Nettle Smith; two brothers, Arthur Smith of Little Rock. Arkansas, and William Sm'th of Berlin, Pennsylvania: and one sis ter, Mrs. Alice Robertson, of Call-ifornla. He was a member of the Baptist church of Eugene.
